Spokane is quite a ways from my local area but it's the closest major city to where I dwell. The entire non city areas of eastern Washington, ALL of Idaho except Boise & well into Montana has there own local militias, not to mention folks are armed to the eyeballs out in the stix in the north west. This far out where I dwell we are lucky to have one Sheriff Deputy on patrol per shift so it's a great feeling to know one has a minute man type militia ready to go if trouble befalls the area. Spokane could have done better but for a major city it did alright considering politics.
