Thats just wonderful.Always wanted a GI model 1911 in .45 caliber....... My local gun store had a used one, Rock Island Armory 1911 A1 GI version. Came with two Wilson Combat magazines, excellent bore and no obvious holster wear. The wood grips are a little beat up but they're easy to refinish.

I go 50-50. Boiled linseed/turp. Rub it in. Linspeed is too fast for me, Raw linseed? Yeah not in our lifetime! Did a rowboat in it. ^ mo fina;;y got to paint itI'll see how these grips come out, so far so good. At least I'm using Lin-speed oil and not pure boiled linseed oil or it would take forever to finish the grips..........
