Tech entrepreneur Peter Thiel, who’s one of the lone Donald Trump supporters in Silicon Valley, expanded his support for the GOP candidate.

“No matter what happens in this election, what Trump represents isn’t crazy and it’s not going away,” he said at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on Monday. “He points toward a new Republican Party beyond the dogmas of Reaganism.”

“He points even beyond the remaking of one party to a new American politics that overcomes denial, rejects bubble thinking and reckons with reality.”

Hey, maybe Trump CAN unite the conservative Constitutionalists unhappy with the party sellouts, with the RINO types who want more workable moderate policies than the far right wing who won't give and even thought Bush was too moderate or wouldn't vote for Romney.

Maybe there is a way to go more mainstream WITHOUT selling out conservative values. Trump shows he will sell out left and right if he's only representing himself.

But if he's trying to unite the party around a new central norm, he'd have to find the real center, and not this business of buying and selling out on both left and right just to dominate. That won't work with that many people and factions, from RINO to Tea Party.

He'd have to hit the real target or his followers will not ever unite.
By trial and error, by sticking to that goal until he finds the right angles to take,
if he is that stubborn he'll even take corrections from people to get to what works,
sure, he's tough and strongminded enough to stay the course until all the factions
drop the politics and unite around real working and sustainable ethical solutions
that everyone can agree on.

I can see him working with the other GOP as well as other party leaders
UNTIL THIS GETS DONE. If he really makes that his objective to reunite America.
Of course he'd have to start with the GOP then add other parties to that.
Sure, he can do this with the help of all other party and pastoral leaders
who see what America needs if we're going to recover and rebuild to the next level.

In 2004, GWB won a majority of the Popular Vote (something neither candidate is likely to do this time) by running a smart and disciplined campaign. Trump (much less his people) are not smart and they are about as undisciplined as a Turkish whore house. To suggest that a mainstream candidate like Rubio or Kasich would need the tractor-pull contingent of the GOP is silly. At the same time, they have to understand they cannot win with the same coalition that GWB did and will definitely need ethnic minorities in the mix.
