They quit after a few hours…….Farmers can’t find workers

WTF...not only are these farmers getting cheep labor the government is giving them grants to "cover" the cost of hiring illegals...F-that, maybe trying paying US workers more and they won't quit.
The Minimum Wage for that "cheap Labor is more than twice the federal MW in my state and $3+ more than the state MW. The adverse effect wage rate in Virginia for foreign workers is $16.16 per hour; the federal MW is $7.25; and the vIrginia MW is $12.41.

I have no problem with allowing migrants to pick our crops
Always been that way
Countries have a visa system. Where there's a lack of skills/people in certain areas of work, the appropriate number of visas are issued. That gives you migrants. I'm too more than happy with that.

What I'm not happily with is, and you as a law abiding citizen shouldn't be happy with, is illegal migrants doing the work. And that's the focus of the deportations and discussion.

IF migrants could just follow your laws, this debacle wouldn't be going on. And the FIRST law is, use the correct port and means of entry. It's as simple as that, just do it the same way Arnold Schwarzenegger and Melania Trump did it. Why is this so rocket science for Lefties? And what makes it worse, unscrupulous employers taking advantage of the illegals. Democrats are the party of hating the rich, get the farmers to pay out higher wages to Americans.

Really, your OK now with Government over reach and taxing you for trumps mistake?
Countries in the EU and the UK have agricultural systems in place that support farmers, such as the Basic Payment Scheme. Any business, including farms, that hire illegal will get prosecuted and fined over £20,000 per illegal. The US has no system against employers and the Left encourage farmers to hire illegal immigrants.

Many operations are beginning to move toward automation anyway.

Speaking only for myself, I do thoroughy enjoy going apple and peach picking in the orchards, even though I have my own trees here.

Have some cider...go on a hayride...stuff like that. Yee haw...

Automation isn't the driver here. It is the seasonality of farm work just doesn't pay enough or come with benefits. Back when tobacco was king, there was never a problem finding Americans to do that nasty nasty work because the pay was crazy good. Some of the local factory workers would use their summer vacations to pull tobacco, draw their vacation pay, and then vacation later in the year on their own dime (well, if you want to call taking the first and last days of hunting season off a vacation).

They are illegal for a lack of paperwork
Give them papers and let them work

They are illegal for a lack of paperwork
Give them papers and let them work
There are illegal for three reasons -

1) They just broke into the country

2) They overstayed their visa

3) They didn't wait for the correct paperwork

So in each case to the above, you should be saying -

1) Get out

2) Get out

3) Get out

When your application is successful, and you have the correct paperwork, then in you come. If it's busy and/or the paperwork is delayed for any reason, you wait. If it's not within their timescale, they can go suck on a banana whilst waiting to pass the time.

Yet again, it's not rocket science to the law abiding.

Get out means we have nobody to do those jobs.
We suffer

Either ignore them like we always have or give them the paperwork to allow them to work for fair pay and pay taxes.

You have, you have Americans and any shortfall in numbers, a visa system with a correct way to apply. Bring in a form of national service, you must pick crops for two years after leaving education. Come up with solutions other than illegal ones.

Why are you blaming liberals for the choices farmers make on hiring illegals?

You hate brown people so much
Wow! That is a real crock of shit! I have many friends of color. My best friend is from Honduras and we have been friends 23 years, I know you were joking when you said that. I was hoping you had not gone over the Liberal deep end and will apologize for saying I hate brown people.

Be careful what you wish for

Trump was elected to rid the country of illegal immigrants
ICE is hitting farms and rounding up,workers
American workers just can’t cut it.

Every liberal everywhere: "I respect people of all races, faiths and socioeconomic status"

Trump deports illegals

Liberals: "But who's going to scrub my TOILET!?! Who's going to pick our CROPS?!? Who's going to tend our POOL!?!?"

Again

Scratch a liberal, find a bougie elitist. It's so tiring

Ever seen how fat americans are. Europeans are a lot healthier. They don't have wetbacks out in the fields
Ever seen the weight of the average tsa worker. LOL

Do you know what the labor turnover rate is at Amazon?

Amazon experiences a very high employee turnover rate, particularly among its hourly warehouse workers, with some reports indicating an annual rate of 150%, which is significantly higher than industry averages. This high turnover is a major concern for the company, leading to increased costs, decreased productivity, and potential difficulties in maintaining a stable workforce.

That means more Amazon workers quit each year, than work there.
They probably have a "seasonal" and "probationary" hiring model.
May have the 36-hour week thing going on, too.
