A better question is why someone needs a master's degree to teach a first grader to fingerpaint.

My late mother was an art teacher at my Catholic grammar school. She didn't have a Master's or bachelor's degree. She took some art classes when she lived a Bohemian lifestyle before she settled down, married my dad, converted to Catholicism, and started having kids. She didn't make much money at it; we mostly relied on my dad's salary as a Union Sheet Metal worker.

Yet, she was pretty good at her job. Long after she passed, I met people who told me they became professional artists because they were inspired by what she taught them.

Of course, I can honestly say that I got far more out of the Army than I got out of college. And the only reason I joined the Army was to pay for college. Go figure.

I will say I disagreed with keeping the schools closed for so long during COVID. I wanted to get back to teaching the kids, and I could see what it was doing to them.

Qialification has nothing to do with ability. Off the top of my head, my sister couldn't teach science in most public schools. My sister has a master's degree in organic chemistry. My uncle could teach algebra and geometry (he taught me), though no public school would let him.

I am correct on both counts. Corruption happened, but not to everyone. THis is not difficult

Not helped by the fact that some of the more visible teachers are the bad ones in charge of the unions.
