1. Most employers prefer to hire from the inside or from a employee referrral

2. In order for a position to become available someone has to QUIT, GET FIRED, RETIRE, or GET PROMOTED

Of corse there is also a number of other reasons. Expansion being the main one. A competitor starting up. At the moment there are more job openings then people willing to fill them.

If you know only one thing and are looking in a not a particular field then it may be difficult to find employment. Say in the field of underwater basket weaving. You might have to wait for the things you mentioned. But if you have a will to work and learn you may be able to find work in things like bussiness management, truck driver, electrocution or other fields. You might not make a six fiqure is nome your first week. But that is part of the deal with most jobs you work, learn and then move up.

I don't see how either of those are reasons to extend unemployment insurance. Please explain.

Because you may take you until the 4th month to get a interview. When job searching you must apply to the right jobs like in my case I want a job that is

9 to 5
Holidays and weekends
No travel
Office environment
No more than a 45 min commute.

So that may take a while to find but that's what I want and it's important to get the right job.

when unemployment goes below 4%, the presumption is that everyone who wants a job has one...or is being unrealistic.

Unemployment is a form of INSURANCE. You pay a premium and if the indemnified event occurs, you collect. the six month cap is based on the premiums paid. Anything over that is pure "welfare."

it depends on when you lose your job. Best time to look for a job is Jan to May and Sept to November

Employment is at the will of either party; you should qualify for unemployment simply for being unemployed in our at-will employment States.

I said it should be longer

Capitalism has a natural rate of unemployment. Labor as the least wealthy should not have to shoulder that burden. Corporations get to deduct the cost of Labor.

Silly Moon Bat. Once again you are confused.

The more capitalist US has much lower unemployment than the more socialistic countries in the rest of the world.

Right now, due to Trump's lower taxation and fewer regulations, we have the lowest unemployment in over 50 years and close to the best in the world. It is to the point of where everybody that wants to work can find a job.

Capitalism creates jobs. Socialism destroys jobs.

No need for unemployment payments. Just another job destroying financial burden on employers

So what’s the negotiating order of those wants? Which will you give up first, next, and so on as the hunger worsens, cable’s long gone, 8 bucks for a peach pie...

I will only be flexible with 9 to 5 if its still during the day..,8 to 4pm or 10 to 6
no flexible when it comes to weekends. Refuse to do it
No flexible when it comes to a job that involves traveling
I will only do office work
I will be a little flexible with the commute but not 2 hours

What field are you in?

why does that matter??????

Because you might want to change the field you are working in if you are having a hard time obtaining a job.

I never went more than three days without work and that was because I did not want to work.

Agreed.
The only time I've ever been out of a job is because I wanted to be.
I collected unemployment one time when I was laid off right before Christmas and I said F it I'm not looking for a job during the holidays so I took a month off.

Well no one is hiring during the holidays so only a brand new fool would look for a job around that time

So you wouldnt move for a good job?
And I'm not saying right off the bat.You do the commute until you're satisfied the job is right for you.
I cant believe how pussified Americans are these days.
I rode my bike 20 miles each way to work when I was a youngster, did that for four months rain or shine until I felt secure.
