I'm by no means justifying the shambles of the student loan industry and it's handling by both private and federal entities, but why lie?

It's an outright lie. These people were not arrested and "locked up" for not paying student loans. They were arrested on bench warrants for ignoring court orders to appear, and simply brought to court. The same thing happens in all kinds of cases where people ignore court orders to appear. The student loan has absolutely nothing to do with it. Bench warrants for appearance violations are procedural in nature, and wholly divorced from the subject matter of the case. Get a clue.

To say carrier government employees are not the deep state is naive. Their carriers and advancement depend directly upon those in power, furthermore, serve those that promise the most provided they toe the line. At what point their political affiliations and personal beliefs dictate how they preform their job is the first day of employment. Self preservation is the guiding principle behind their actions which outlines the definition of deep state. Hold outs from prior administrations owe their loyalty not to the people or current administration but to the ones that furthered their carriers.
