Theodore Roosevelt Statue to be Removed from Museum of Natural History

Roosevelt Statue to Be Removed From Museum of Natural History

I pose the question as to why Martin Luther King Jr has not been talked about more? The man was a terrible family man who cheated on his wife incessantly. It has been reported by FBI documents that he watched and cheered on a sexual assault. Why aren't his statues being torn down or building named after him changed?
This is no longer just about Civil War statues.
This is about ethnically cleansing American history and heritage.
These are hate crimes.

YOU are an American embarrassment.
no you are

It was commissioned in 1925 and finally placed in 1940. Once again prog idiots like you push the SJW nazism of today on past items.

Only someone with an axe to grind, like smarmy SJW twats like you, can see something so evil about it that it as to be removed, and in your view, destroyed.
If only you were an avid fan, you'd know that this is the first time I've agreed about a protester taking down a statue. I don't even think the confederate ones should be taken down UNLESS the community itself wants it gone. Not just a few of them, but the majority of them.
I happen to like history.

But this statue is grotesque imperialism at its worst.

"grotesque imperialism" ???? looks like a nice
statue to me. Three figures. Well done and a horse. The two figures on either side of the horse do not look "SUBJUGATED" to me--they look strong,
healthy and proud. I have seen MUCH worse works of art that depict abuse of people. Are we going to CLEAN out the Metropolitan Museum of Art? Does the ASPCA have anything to say about the Bronx zoo?

You might feel differently if Malcolm X was on the horse in a Brooks Brothers suit and a couple of "strong healthy" white guys were standing below him in stereotypical wife beaters. It's optics, Rosie

Your post makes no sense and I have no idea what a "stereotypical wife beater" is-----Malcolm X was a
pimp when he was young. Is that what you mean?
Is Teddy wearing a Brooks Brothers suit?

Roosevelt Statue to Be Removed From Museum of Natural History
The equestrian memorial to Theodore Roosevelt has long prompted objections as a symbol of colonialism and racism.

The bronze statue of Theodore Roosevelt, on horseback and flanked by a Native American man and an African man, which has presided over the entrance to the American Museum of Natural History in New York since 1940, is coming down.

The decision, proposed by the museum and agreed to by New York City, which owns the building and property, came after years of objections from activists and at a time when the killing of George Floyd has initiated an urgent nationwide conversation about racism.

For many, the equestrian statue at the museum’s Central Park West entrance has come to symbolize a painful legacy of colonial expansion and racial discrimination.

“Over the last few weeks, our museum community has been profoundly moved by the ever-widening movement for racial justice that has emerged after the killing of George Floyd,” the museum’s president, Ellen V. Futter, said in an interview. “We have watched as the attention of the world and the country has increasingly turned to statues as powerful and hurtful symbols of systemic racism.”

OLD CULTURE
OLD WAYS
OLD HABITS
OLD WAYS

In case no one has noticed, all of this is an assault on America's history, our culture, where we came from, who we are at the core - a melting pot. This is right out of Saul Alensky.

Marxism / Socialism magic, slight of hand ... while you're looking at George Floyd and his murderers getting arrested Antifa and BLM slip in, statues start coming down, flags start getting burned, sections of cities begin being held hostage, turned into lawless 'autonomous' zones.

George Floyd's death has been left in the rear view mirror...this isn't about him anymore.

.
Never was about him. They couldn't care less about him if they tried. Just like the kids killed at Parkland HS, it is ONLY ABOUT USING IT TO DESTROY CAPITALISM period.

Time to take down Woodrow Wilson for showing the KKK propaganda film Birth of Nation in the east room of the White House and who began the segregation of federal offices along with FDR for his rounding up Japanese Americans and putting them in internment camps after the Preal Harbor attack.

These statues don't mean a thing to me. While Teddy Roosevelt is my favorite president, what others think of him is not my concern. Perhaps I'll get a picture of him to hang in the den.

Well he did have more in common with Democrats than Republicans. I think they're trying to hide the evidence
