I think you have a real lack of appreciation of how tough these professional wrestlers are. A lot of guys started out in other sports, like Ernie Ladd and Primo Carnera, and decided to move to the King of Sports. And a lot of professional wrestlers have very controversial viewpoints, they have to fight their way through the streets just to get to the arena. Sgt Slaughter, for example, switched allegiance from America to Iraq during the 1st Gulf War. Colonel DeBeers of the Union of South Africa had very controversial ideas about race that the fans didn't like. Back in the day, escaped war criminals from both Japan and Germany- men like Hans Mortier and Toru Tanaka- came to America to try and take the WWWF title back to their homelands. These guys risked a lot , because they were so unpopular.
