The government forced many big companies into adopting policies they did not want and were expensive, to make products and do things that they didn't want to make and did them no good. In other words, pretty much like every initiative from the Left. But now with a sane man in office like Trump, companies are slowly, quietly trying to back out of this mess without garnering too much notice nor ire from the environmental wacky left.

Case in point:

Some brainiac came up with the great idea to form global initiative to curb methane emissions from dairy cows--- not sure how you do that without killing the cows, stop feeding them, sell them for meat, or shove a pipe up their ass. Just two years ago, Nestle Foods got dragged into the scrum adding their voice to the "initiative." SAVE THE WORLD! End cow farts!!!

Well now, someone has noticed that Nestle has quietly slid out of the BS realizing that being involved in global cow fart reduction was doing their bottom line no good and wasn't going anywhere anyway, so quiet in fact that they didn't even announce the change. This signals a general trend that more and more companies are falling away from all of this climate nonsense--- nonsense because, whether global warming is real or not, none of our efforts will change it because we simply haven't the technology yet to effectively, affordably get totally away from carbon-producing energy sources, and the more companies back out and get back to focusing on business, and as more auto companies back out of producing EVs or putting much more into them, this will only cause yet more companies to follow suit.

Who told you that we will get totally away from carbon producing energy sources before we develop the technology and have in place to supply our needs. I got a new truck a few months ago. They didn't even mention that it is a hybrid. It has more power, and better gas mileage, and didn't cost more than a standard gas only engine.

EV's were never supposed to be a solution.

It was all just virtue signaling, granted, really expensive virtue signaling.

Pretty amazing really that these executives in charge of climate change have no idea what they are even dealing with. 7-8% CO2, really?

The one dude was only off by a factor of 5000.

LOL What a foolish post. Tell you what, get your weight, get the same percentage of potassium cyanide for your weight as there is CO2 in the atmosphere, and take that potassium cyanide. See, a very small amount of something in a complex system can indeed change that system in negative ways. The change from 280 ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere to over 430 ppm is greater than the increase from deep glacial period to interglacial, which was 180 ppm to 280 ppm. Last time we were at this level there was no ice at the North Pole, and most of Antarctica was free of ice. Of course the thermal inertia of ice and oceans will mean it will take a few centuries to reach that point again, but the rapid increase is going to make some interesting weather inbetween.

Approximately 430 parts per million
As of June 2025, the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the Earth's atmosphere is approximately 430 parts per million (ppm). This level has been rising, with a record high of 422.7 ppm reported in 2024, marking the largest one-year increase on record.

OK, so you know that we have increased the CO2 level from 280 ppm to over 430 ppm. And it means nothing to you. Now who is more ignorant, the person that does not know that or the one that ignores what that means? You deniers are the stupidest people on the planet.

Still standing in the horse turds at the side of the highway, screaming "Get a horse". LOL That was what was said of the first autos. And it was true until the first Model T. Now we are seeing EV's of equal quality on even price terms with ICE cars. Without tariffs, we would be seeing higher quality EV's from China undercutting our ICE cars.

Yep, CO2 has gone from 0.03% to 0.04%, like it has many times before and higher. All without man. Put another way, our air has temporarily gone, for a minute fraction of Earth's time, from about 99.93% totally harmless gas compounds to just 99.92% totally harmless gas compounds. And every time, the Earth recovered to here we are today. I was writing articles about it many years ago. But to you, that 0.01% difference is going to tip the Earth over into eternal hell and damnation.

Which means that today, 1/2,500th of every cubic inch of the atmosphere is a weak GHG which is also plant food necessary for life. The plants love CO2, which only helps them produce more of the oxygen we need.

What about water vapor? Water vapor is a far stronger IR inhibiting agent than CO2 and the atmosphere is several percent water. What does that mean? It means that CO2 is one of the weakest GHGs and in one of the lowest concentrations. What it means is that if we simply back off on having kids to let the global population slowly fall back to 3-4 billion (my preference), the Earth will be better off, we will be better off, and the carbon level will naturally fall without us doing or sacrificing anything with no need for some expensive, clever, painful technological trick, because we will simply be producing far less carbon.

Just lower the population and suddenly: Voila! No need to stop mining coal or driving cars.

You deniers are the stupidest people on the planet.
Yeah, yeah, sure. ITMT, I probably have 20X your knowledge and intelligence, while you go around putting people down you cannot best in an argument by calling them stupid--- showing your true colors.

It means to me that we have gone from 1/3,300th% at the lowest we know of, to about 1/2,500th%, which isn't near as high as it has been in the distant past long before man. And the Earth did just fine, otherwise, we wouldn't be here today. In fact, there seems to be little historic correlations between past CO2 levels and temperature levels.

Now who is more ignorant,

Hybrids are fine.

The EV is not needed. The EV is the "Moron Mobile."

It means nothing to Earth temperature data.

1. highly correlated satellite and balloon data
2. surface air pressure

Are you truly trying to prove what a dumb **** you are? Yes, water vapor is the primary greenhouse gas. However, it's residence time in the atmosphere is less than ten days, then it rains out. CO2's residence time is in centuries. And when CO2 and the other GHGs raise the temperature of the atmosphere one degree, it will hold seven percent more water. CO2 is the primary driver of the present warming of the planet, which is creating a changing climate.

My, my. Isn't it kind of stinky where you have your head at present? The satellite data, gathered from 1979 to present says exactly the opposite of what you are claiming. And you damned well know it. I don't know why you are engaged in lying, but it is a definite clue to your character. Here is the satellite data'

Who, apparently, don't like "Oil Paintings" either.
We already have the tech in place to totally replace fossil fuels with renewables. In fact, this is being done in the rest of the world, where renewables have become the most installed of new generating. Of course, you pick the most idiotic people to characterize as representative of those of us that would like to see sane ways of generating the electricity we need. At least they are young and stupid, not old and stupid like most MAGAts.

Again, why demonstrate you ignorance for all the world to see? In the geological record, times of very rapid change have been times of extinction. Rate of change is the key, and we are experiencing a rate of change only exceeded a couple of times in the geological record.

Wow, Nestle? What do they figure is one of the main ingredients in MILK Chocolate? Don't they realize that MILK comes from Dairy cows? SMH. I just don't get it.

You argue a moot point: we need the carbon sources to supply the energy essential to our society, and we don't yet have the technology to practically and affordably switch to alternative energy systems.

Until that technology is further developed, both the Earth and we will just have to hang on.
