First of all, there has never been a "white people" nation, civilization or culture. And there are many European peoples that had no colonial empire at all and were not involved in slave trading. If any, some of them have been historically the victims of it.

Secondly, blaming people for the actions of their ancestors is deeply troubling and wrong.

Third, major civilizations through history and around the world have enslaved people. Some northern African civilizations and the Ottoman Empire were massive traders of Sub-saharan African and Slavic European (Czechs, Polish, Ukrainians...) slaves. Mainly because they were poor, poorly defended and had another religion. A centuries-long episode that we prefer not to talk about.

Many whites throughout history have had to struggle their entire lives to survive. The Irish had a tough time of it due to their harsh conditions.

All races had to start at "ground zero." All races have been on the planet for multiple thousands of years. Every race has had ample opportunity to create better conditions for themselves through ingenuity, talent, intelligence, trial-and-error, inventiveness, etc. So Whites shouldn't be vilified simply because they used the resources at hand to their benefit. They shouldn't be hated for their creativity and ability to improve their conditions.

Just for the record, be it known that not all Whites were slave owners. In fact, you can thank Whites for ending slavery. Also of importance is the fact that not all American southerners were slave owners. Also, there were American northerners who DID own slaves. Then there's the important (albeit rarely discussed) fact that there were free blacks who owned black slaves. And finally, early White settlers brought with them, White slaves.

I find it disgusting that modern blacks want to play the perpetual "race card" and blame their current, pitiful existence on slavery which ended more than 160 years ago. Quit whining and blaming and start improving yourselves in the here-and-now.

You see, I've worked hard, most of my life, to be able to live in a place where the values I have are reflected in my community.

• Values like people getting up and working to provide for themselves and their loved ones.
• Values like taking the weekend and having a cookout, or working in the yard, or tending a garden.
• Values like attending the local school in support of the kids and their sports endeavors, because those values teach that sports teach leadership and teamwork.
• Values like celebrating accomplishments and community.

Plus dozens of other community values that I'm not going to take the time to type out.


Notice that not one of those values is the color of someone's skin.

It is all based on shared values and life experiences.
