As promised, here comes the Damascus thread.

The city of Darayya completely returns to government control

"The rebel envoy represented several Islamist factions with Islamic Matyrs Brigade being the most important. Following a few hours of debate in the early morning of Wednesday, an agreement was reached allowing for many militants to take up the amnesty offer given by the Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic whilst others would be transported to the Syrian north under supervision of international organizations.

After the execution of the amnesty and relocation operations, the city will be announced liberated and all its roads will open for civil activity after five years of devastating war. Government services will be provided to the city as soon as possible to allow for swift return of its population and the rebuilding process to resume."

The battles in south-eastern Damascus are ongoing

"Footage emerged of the elite Syrian Army’s Republican Guard steamrolling through the defense lines of the salafist group Jaish Al-Islam (Army of Islam) in the northern sector of the jihadist-held bastion of Eastern Ghouta.

Soon after the Syrian Army captured vast stretches of villages and farms in the southern and eastern sectors of Eastern Ghouta, the Syrian Armed Forces placed their eyes on the northern sector capturing Hawsh Al-Farah and Hawsh Nasri in a short period of time.

With those two towns under control, the Syrian Army seized Al-Rayhan Farms following hours of very intense clashes. This development severs the militant supply line between the Islamist strongholds of Shifuniyah and Al-Rayhan whilst almost completely surrounding Tal Kurdi, one of Jaish Al-Islam’s most well-defended points in Eastern Ghouta."

While the master of the war on terror, Syrian President Dr. Bashar al-Assad, participates in an religious ceremony in Darayya, the battle against Jaish al-Islam in Damascus continues. Driving personally to the mosque, the President once again demonstrated he is right down-to-earth and not one of the politicians known to be completely out of touch with the real word.

reminds me of an interview ---which was taped and televised which I saw decades ago. The interview was of FRAU WINIFRED WAGNER----the widow of SIEGFRIED WAGNER --
son of the opera composer --RICHARD WAGNER I. The lady
spoke in german although she was british by birth. She and her husband were music directors for ADOLF-- during the years of german glory. Winifred recalled Adolf
with great fondness------he was so down to earth-----her four
kids called him UNCLE ADOLF----and the family's dogs loved him too. SUCH A CHARMING PERSON. When the interviewer ---very gently---mentioned the issue of concentration camps-----Winifred waved her hand dismissively ----and said "oh that----it was Himmler's idea"

religion was a big time issue in the BERLIN BUNKER ---too---
Magda and Josef Goebbels were ardent catholics--------Poor
Magda could not go to mass whilst in the bunker with the noble and beloved ADOLF-----but when she did go---she put a white
lacey mantilla over her head and looked like the virgin mary.
A picture of her wedding day ------as she repeated the vows
with adolf standing near by looking "holy"----is very touching

"Damascus, Syria (2:01 A.M.) - After hours of preliminary shelling and airstrikes pummeling jihadist defense lines around the Damascene city of Douma, the Syrian Army launched a mass-scale assault on the village of Rayhan, which lies no more than a kilometer away from Douma.

Violent clashes are ongoing inside the village and it remains unknown whether the Syrian Armed Forces will be able to consolidate their gains inside the village or retreat. Capturing the aforementioned village is an extremely difficult feat due to its proximity to Douma and the ample presence of tunnels all around the region."

"Led by the 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Armed Forces began the day by capturing several sites from Jaysh Al-Islam, including the Reyhan cemetery, grammar school, and mosque.

Following the capture of these sites, the Syrian Armed Forces established fire-control over Al-Reyhan, leaving only a small pocket of resistance left at the northern perimeter of this key town in the East Ghouta.

Once Al-Reyhan is fully captured, the strategic hilltop village of Tal Kurdi will fall shortly after, due to the fact Jaysh Al-Islam will be encircled by the surrounding hills."
