You know what I meant. But another poster did illustrate that you can win or settle as we saw with ABC? How does that work? Do you know?Anybody can sue. Winning is unlikely.

Neither Musk or Melania work in government. Musk may be in the future but Melania isn't in any office.Curious. Both Musk and Melania are public figures. Can they sue over this Enquirer type rhetoric?
She isn’t? What is the definition? Not arguing just curious.Neither Musk or Melania work in government. Musk may be in the future but Melania isn't in any office.
Melania isn't the First Lady yet either, so she's not a public figure.
You can slander anyone and be sued for it, but it seems that exceptions are made for politicians because if they couldn't lie about them most politicians wouldn't have anything to say about their opponent. She isn’t? What is the definition? Not arguing just curious.
But you can do it to actors too? Right? Celebrities? You can slander anyone and be sued for it, but it seems that exceptions are made for politicians because if they couldn't lie about them most politicians wouldn't have anything to say about their opponent.
There's nothing frivolous about outright slander.
What they broadcast on The View is reckless, bordering on criminal behavior, and something has to be done about it.
They can sue you for it too.But you can do it to actors too? Right? Celebrities?
Got it. Thanks. Was that how the Enquirer got away with it?They can sue you for it too.
If you have the cash to spend on legal fees....knock yourself out.
The Enquirer seems to be more honest than the Washington Post.Got it. Thanks. Was that how the Enquirer got away with it?
There it is. You have to prove damages. The View is like the Enquirer. Curious how Elon and Melania prove damages since no one takes those five losers seriously. At least I hope not.The Enquirer seems to be more honest than the Washington Post.
But then again....everyone assumes the Enquirer is bull shit.
If a plaintiff can prove damages then yes the Enquirer can be sued for damages as well as punitive damages.
Some free speech has a price tag.As much as I understand these suits,.isn't this just going to lead to further suppression of speech? The View have always been disgusting and.an absurd show but free speech is more important than just what these idiots offer to the fringe.
Elon and Melania can easily prove damages against The View. There it is. You have to prove damages. The View is like the Enquirer. Curious how Elon and Melania prove damages since no one takes those five losers seriously. At least I hope not.
The Onion and The Bee both have disclosed that they're not publishing news. Some free speech has a price tag.
I hope you’re rightElon and Melania can easily prove damages against The View.
And when they start saying they plan on murdering Donald Trump it's pretty much a slamdunk.
The View falls under the guise of news programming by ABC.There it is. You have to prove damages. The View is like the Enquirer. Curious how Elon and Melania prove damages since no one takes those five losers seriously. At least I hope not.
Well, that price tag was paid by your Forefathers and many who died on the battlefield. Some free speech has a price tag.
They do? You’re kidding? They aren’t entertainment like pro wrestling? The View falls under the guise of news programming by ABC.
Just as liable as Stephanopoulos.
Exactly. There’s free speech and there’s libel
Elon Musk is suing Whoopie Goldberg and other hosts on The View over false rumors they started before the election. Elon is suing them for $80 million. Melania Trump is also suing them for their lies over what they think her relationship is like with her husband. Anyone who saw the show could see trouble coming from a mile away. One of their hosts actually claimed that Melania wanted to murder her own husband. So she's suing them for $100 million for defamation.
Free speech comes with responsibility, so if you run your mouth off and don't have the evidence to back it up, then run the risk of being sued.As much as I understand these suits,.isn't this just going to lead to further suppression of speech? The View have always been disgusting and.an absurd show but free speech is more important than just what these idiots offer to the fringe.
