You can slander anyone and be sued for it, but it seems that exceptions are made for politicians because if they couldn't lie about them most politicians wouldn't have anything to say about their opponent.

What they broadcast on The View is reckless, bordering on criminal behavior, and something has to be done about it.

Yeah.... They got very comfortable making public judgments on other people thinking that they will basically untouchable. On the other hand the bullshit with E. jean Carroll insisting that Trump was defaming her by proclaiming his innocence of the accusation is a complete abuse of those laws.

The Enquirer seems to be more honest than the Washington Post.

If a plaintiff can prove damages then yes the Enquirer can be sued for damages as well as punitive damages.

Personally, I don’t give a shit if the hens on The View express their opinions about Trump himself or whatever. But when you start making unsupported allegations about about him and his family, that’s a whole ‘nother kettle of fish.

Free speech aside, all The View does is demonstrate how hateful the left can be which is hypocrisy defined given how much they preach against it.

Elon Musk is suing Whoopie Goldberg and other hosts on The View over false rumors they started before the election. Elon is suing them for $80 million. Melania Trump is also suing them for their lies over what they think her relationship is like with her husband. Anyone who saw the show could see trouble coming from a mile away. One of their hosts actually claimed that Melania wanted to murder her own husband. So she's suing them for $100 million for defamation.

Carrie Underwood has also sued the View. 800 million dollars is the amount. By the time they leave courts of the law, it won't shock me if they get cancelled.

Free speech comes with responsibility, so if you run your mouth off and don't have the evidence to back it up, then run the risk of being sued.
