1. There is the quote from the Spanish philosopher who yearned to be American,
George Santayana
The correct quote is “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”. Santayana was a Harvard philosophy professor and essayist.

2. Nowhere is that truer than for Democrat voters/government school grads.

3. Several of these Demorats refer to Trump as a "felon," having been found guild of a trumped-up charge that none can find applied to anyone but their political rival.

4. Today as the anniversary of a similar misuse of the judicial system....another Democrat court finding that blacks are simply property, like furnature.

5. March 6th, 1857 Dred Scott Decision: slaves cannot be citizens, merely property. When the Roger Taney Court gave the decision, two days into the term of Pres. Buchanan, not only did they decide that Scott was property, but also that the Missouri Compromise could not be constitutional since a citizen could not be deprived of his property simply because of where he purchased it (slave did not become free merely by getting to a free state).

The Taney use of lawfare resulted in the Civil War.
The Trump use of lawfare resulted in the electoral thumping the Democrats took.

Definitely still like your writing ability, though I figure, referring to Trump as "felon" has something to do with the 34 felony count convictions by jury and judge in the New York criminal trial.

The trouble, of course, is, how does one understand history? Two brilliant historians can look at the same set of facts and events, and draw different conclusions.

Just for fun, I invite our correspondents to assess the following facts, actions, and events:

The Soviet Union collapsed on December 25, 1991.

NATO, an organization that was created to counter the threat of the Soviet Union DID NOT disband, for reasons that few can articulate. To defend against Russia(?) - which is no threat to anyone at the time.

The U.S. unilaterally withdraws from the ABM treaty in 2002.

The U.S. assures Russia that NATO will not expand eastward, to include former Soviet republics, which assurances quickly evaporate.

The Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria...[14 former Soviet or Soviet-associated countries] join NATO. What was the purpose of NATO again?

US deploys long-range potentially nuclear tipped missiles to Germany and to the aforesaid former Soviet countries - many within striking distance of...Moscow.

The US successfully works to depose a newly elected Ukrainian President who wishes Ukraine to remain neutral, because he is not sufficiently anti-Russia.

Russia "demands" assurances that Ukraine will not become a part of NATO - assurances that were previously given, but quickly forgotten.

U.S. decides that such demand is preposterous, and Russia would never invade Ukraine simply because those assurances were not provided.

Russia invades Ukraine, telling The World shortly thereafter that it will withdraw if the aforesaid assurances are forthcoming. U.S. and Ukraine decline.

Conclusion: [Fill in the blank].

What were the felonies?

Who was the injured party?

When was the misdemeanor changed into a Felony, and for what purpose?

You know no one else would have been so charged.

What conclusion is offered in the OP?

Leviticus 19:15

15 “ ‘Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.

No one can be shocked that the Democrats used a pretend-sort of justice, contrary to Biblical instructions, as the Democrats often aim to do the opposite of the Bible, the foundation of the nation.

So Dred Scott is a piece of property?

Only a Democrat would say that.
Southern, White, Conservative Christian Democrats of old - yes. The Good Ole Boys who fled the Democratic party into the loving embrace of the GOP, with their Southern Strategy.

At one time in the past, them Good Ole Boys from The Old South (The Lost Cause Nincompoops), had a strangle hold on the old Democratic party. Now them Good Ole Boys of today are MAGA Republicans

not true

"conclusions?" wtf do you mean by that?

spin and narratives are there. Brilliant Historians are hardly ever in disagreements over the conclusions of any given subject.

So Dred Scott is a piece of property?

Only a Democrat would say that.

Old time Democrats. Slaveholders in the South. All good White, Southern, Conservative Christian men.

"While the decision was well-received by slaveholders in the South, many northerners were outraged. The decision greatly influenced the nomination of Abraham Lincoln to the Republican Party and his subsequent election, which in turn led to the South's secession from the Union."

You know what they were. If they are misdemeanors to you, take it up with the State of New York, the state you apparently live in, abiding by state law, according to what is displayed below your name.

The same ones you still vote for.

Bill Clinton is still living, a veritable godfather to your party.....and a life-long racist.

Bet you voted for him twice, huh?

  1. a. Governor Clinton was among three state officials the NAACP sued in 1989 under the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965. “Plaintiffs offered plenty of proof of monolithic voting along racial lines, intimidation of black voters and candidates and other official acts that made voting harder for blacks,” the Arkansas Gazette reported December 6, 1989.

    b. Bill Clinton had a Confederate flag-like issue, every year he was governor: 1979-1992 Arkansas Code Annotated, Section 1-5-107, provides as follows:

    (a) The Saturday immediately preceding Easter Sunday of each year is designated as ‘Confederate Flag Day’ in this state.

    (b) No person, firm, or corporation shall display an Confederate flag or replica thereof in connection with any advertisement of any commercial enterprise, or in any manner for any purpose except to honor the Confederate States of America. [Emphasis added.]

    (c) Any person, firm, or corporation violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000).

Bill Clinton took no steps during his twelve years as governor to repeal this law.

[Let's Stop Pretending the Confederate Flag Isn't a Symbol of RacismJust to refresh everyone's memories, we're talking about the official national flag that was used to represent the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. You know, that awkward time period when the South was vehemently fighting to keep slavery around as a means of economic prosperity for white plantation owners.

I've heard arguments time and again about how the Confederate flag is no longer representative of slavery, and how it's now indicative of "Southern pride and heritage." But I'm really over the whole "respect your heritage" mantra, especially when your heritage is hate.

  1. Governor Clinton invited Orval Faubus to his inauguration and they exchanged an almost South American abrazo, embrace, Booknotes :: Home
Governor Orval Faubus, progressive New Deal Democrat, blocked the schoolhouse door to the Little Rock Central High School with the state’s National Guard rather than allow nine black students to attend.

  1. Clinton’s mentor was J. William Fulbright, a vehement foe of integration who had voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

c. Bill Clinton wrote his first letter, dated June 21, 1994, of congratulations to the UDC [Untied Daughters of the Confederacy] celebrating their 100th anniversary. Later Clinton wrote a letter September 8, 1994 letter of congratulation to the Georgia Division of the UDC celebrating their 100th anniversary, then August 9, 1995 welcoming to Washington, D.C. for their 1995 national convention. Each letter was given a full page with Clinton’s picture in the United Daughters of the Confederacy Magazine (UDC Magazine) giving legitimacy to the UDC.

For reference, the UDC magazine includes " a Ku Klux Klan praising book, not just the Klan of Reconstruction but the Klan of the 1920s, a book which recommends the racist books of Thomas Dixon, “The Clansman” ...

not sure why you even bother exposing yourself like this, but okay

I'll take exception to Santayana on that quote.

From this historians perspective, even when the past is remembered, it still is often repeated.

A more correct version is: "Those who fail to learn the lessons of the past are likely to repeat the past."

Wrong. Those good ole boys as you call them have passed away.
