First of all, the public has to realize that we have a problem and enough people have to put some pressure on the gov't to work out a plan of some kind to deal with it. And then the gov't is going to have to stick to the plan over the long run.

Sadly, I do not believe any of that is going to happen, not anytime soon. Too many idiots think that all we have to do is print or create more money, which never works. IOW, we're fucked and not enough people seem to realize it or care.
We have to believe what actually created the problem.

America's social safety net can't be sustained by America's current wealth and lack of productivity compared to more industrious nations. That is, and still sustain the huge income inequality too?

There's always been reliance on winning the riches of other countries, that has sustained America.

The failure to obtain the riches of Russia (then China), has thrown a monkey wrench into plans that were made during Bill Clinton's reign.

Trump's plan to split the Ukraine's mineral wealth still falls short of what must become America's.

(see Jeffery Sachs for the long version of the story.)

There’s no such thing as income inequality.

and nobody has suggested we stay on it without doing anything
Really? Both party's have had decades to fix it, and they haven't.

You are the one saying Trump is starting to fix the problem. Trump is the problem, and yes, Trump is the ultimate manifestation of 249 years of white racism as well as the backlash against modern America by those who want to maintain white male preferences.

Nobody cares about racism anymore. It’s insignificant. The democrats are dropping it because it doesn’t get them votes anymore. You’re all alone mumbling racism racism racism like captain Queeg in The Caine Mutiny.

Except I have shown it.

I can keep going. I study this, chump. You are just an ignorant white airbag in a primarily white right-wing forum trying to argue based on your feelings. So if you think white racism doesn't come at a major cost to our economy, you are really the dumbest mf on erth.
Namon Freemon? That's your cite? Who the fuck is Namon Freemon and why would anyone take the word of an urban planner for gospel on how much "racism" is a drag on the US economy? He makes the same claim you do and backs that claim up with nothing...just like you do!

We are escalating defense spending to a trillion a year

I would rather use the money to help struggling American families than extend military power around the globe
Good thing for us that nobody with a brain values your childish opinion.

We can't even get the democrats to concede that millions of dollars should not be going to a transgender Muppet show in Timbuctoo via USAID without the media screaming, "It's genocide!!!!"

Neither party has a viable plan, thus the answer remains outside the federal Congress.

You either need the states to amend the Constitution and demand budget constraints with a Constitutional amendment, or the system collapses

Either way a solution is on the way, like it or not.

I prefer the first way to go about it in order to preserve the Republic and the Constitution, as where the Left prefers the later so they can have their little "revolution" to usher in a dictatorship minus the Constitution.

But alas, the Left ALWAYS seems to get their way in the end, don't they.
Oh please. You are so weird on what you focus on. Get a life

Well, you see, you and everyone else has been distracted from the actual problem by the oligarchs.
Yeah those oligarchs are destroying our nation…Just ask Mollie Tibbetts, Laken Riley and Rachel Morin.

The US system is just funny to watch from the outside...

They are say they want and need stuff without clear indication... Stuff needs to be paid for and somehow GOP thinks tax cuts does that...

US has a massive income gap which keeps growing...

This is what I am saying, other countries have solved this and come out stronger...
US needs:

  • A good education system which prepares a labour force
  • Health System which keeps the labour force healthy.
  • Labours in all classes... There is no point having 10 nuclear engineers when you need the grass cut.
  • Justice system which is fair and equatable, not a method for the powerful to get away
  • Proper Regulation which puts citizens before Corporates and Profit, safer working place
  • Infrastructure (understand how that builds a better economy and society)
  • Government to pay its bills in the long run (have a plan, investment is not only allowed but expected)
What US wants is:
  • Lower Taxes (this is not an investment, it never gives a return, but nice to have)
  • Less working hours
  • More respect
Don't mix those two up... Spending is good if it invests right..

Sweet quit throwing money at freeloading illegals that would help!

Will Republicans cut taxes and borrow more? Will the Freedom Caucus stand up and save the US from fiscal disaster?

Here is a good summary of US finances including projections up to 2036.

1. Focus on the total deficit, its not coming down fast enough to stop the DEBT from exploding.

2. I don't see "Tariffs" as a major source of revenue.

3. I don't see Welfare as a major expense, yet I know it is?

4. We need to phase non-Federal expenses back to the states. Welfare to work, 2-year max lifetime, Medicaid/Obamacare goes back to 50/50 Federal/State cost sharing.
Doesnt look right. Trump is proposing massive increase in defense spending. This suggests a reduction.
