The United States is now the second country with the most Spanish speakers

Language is a uniquely and exclusive human ability.

so is hitting a fast ball.

so is putting a golf ball.

so is learning statistics.

Yet some people are just better at each of those things than other people.

Thanks for proving my point, ignorant dope.

your point was that it is no language is harder for a person to learn than any other...and you have been proven to be wrong again...yet you keep digging your hole deeper.

No, there is no “official language”.

English is the majority language but the USA has no official language
When the nation was started supposedly, they were conferencing on either English or German as the official language. English is the language as people came her from other nations and learned it. now the Progressives and Globalists have gotten power and are dividing the nation up to weaken it as to make it easier to be put into the world government. Many Americans do not realize we have to be taken down a few pegs and the wealth redistributed. The conditions of that are already set and can be done when or if the powers that be decided to do so.

But some languages are going to be harder or easier to learn as a second language depending on the native language.

...

So many people eager to prove my point.

Except for primates, cetaceans, cephalopods, and evidently Huskies whining at their human pack members.

Nope. Animals, and even plants communicate, but only humans use language.

No language is inherently “harder” than another for its native speakers

But some languages are going to be harder or easier to learn as a second language depending on the native language.

For English speakers, French Spanish or German are going to be somewhat easier to learn than Japanese or Arabic

The common alphabet and large number of cognates are going to make those languages more accessible at first. How could they not?

This is 100% true. I would posit that even for native speakers some languages are inherently more difficult than others. For example English is terribly irregular, which makes it's grammar and even spelling far more difficult than a very structured language like Arabic or Spanish (really most romantic languages).

Lots of animals have a language

Just because we don’t understand them

Doesn’t mean that they don’t exist

So everyone speaks language at the same level? There aren't some people who have an innate ability to use language better than others? Everyone is Shakespeare? Take the L and move on.

What is your point?

Are you saying there’s zero difference between a native English speaker learning French vs learning Chinese?

Both can be done, of course, but the overlap between English/French is naturally going to make certain aspects easier as compared to an English speaker learning Chinese
