The ultimate in gaslighting. An EO titled......... “Ending the Weaponization of the Federal Government.”

Justice Dept. removes senior career officials from key positions

Among the people being removed from the national security division is deputy assistant attorney general George Toscas, who has served there since 2006, according to three people familiar with the matter. Two people said he was transferred to a newly created Office of Sanctuary Cities Enforcement in the associate attorney general’s office. The office is tasked with identifying ways to enforce federal immigration laws, a top priority of the new president.

Toscas was a senior counterintelligence attorney who played a key role in deciding to search Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence to retrieve the classified documents as part of that federal investigation. He served as a deputy in the national security division during the first Trump administration.

“He has seen everything in both counterterrorism and counterintelligence,” said a former colleague in the National Security Division, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss information that has not been made public. “There is no one in the department who knows as much about prosecuting and investigating terrorists and spies as George Toscas.”

Baby Donald's retribution continues to weaken the nation.
how hard was it to remove the cobwebs?

A Trump Executive Order Sets Out What Could Be a Road Map for Retribution
The order is titled “Ending the Weaponization of the Federal Government,” but it asserts that the Biden administration might have acted illegally and directs agencies to seek evidence.

Since his election victory, President Trump has said he would not seek retribution against his perceived enemies. “I’m not looking to go into the past,” he said last month on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “Retribution will be through success.”

But in an executive order he signed on Monday night, Mr. Trump made clear that he has every intention to seek out and possibly punish government officials in the Justice Department and America’s intelligence agencies as a way to “correct past misconduct” against him and his supporters.

It would be justice, the order said, against officials from the Biden administration who carried out an “unprecedented, third-world weaponization of prosecutorial power to upend the democratic process.”

This is what retribution could look like during the second Trump presidency: payback dressed up in the language of victimhood.

“It looks like the beginning of a retribution campaign because it’s backward looking,” Mr. Kupperman said. “He’s still grappling with the past four years, and this is not the right outlet for him to play this out. It plays to his MAGA base, but it’s not the right one for the country.”

A Trump Executive Order Sets Out What Could Be a Road Map for Retribution

It's going to be worse than I thought. That's saying a lot.

trump supporters will say this is what they voted for. Unwittingly admitting they are the problem.

Don claims to ending the DoJ's weaponization even as he starts it in earnest. The name of the EO is as Orwellian as it gets.
What is the scary part of this is the number of people incarcerated by the J6 committee for years on false evidence.
Then how the DOJ went after anyone they deemed a threat....silenced the media...and upset a bunch of lives just because they could.

I understand how you might think that Trump is unique in retribution....but that's not the case. I'm not feeling safe expressing any form of speech anymore or actually taking any part of our government even in a local role much less a federal one....
It's a scary notion even working for the government and relying upon those paychecks.

I don't care which side you are on....

Free Speech is no longer free.

the second Trump presidency: payback dressed up in the language of victimhood.
It just gets better and better: democrats whining because Trump is doing unto them what they've done for years, except this payback will be JUSTIFIED by ACTUAL CRIMES.

“It looks like the beginning of a retribution campaign because it’s backward looking,”
Ever see a person prosecuted for something in the future they hadn't done yet, Jackass?

It's going to be worse than I thought. That's saying a lot.
:mm:

The name of the EO is as Orwellian as it gets.
Welcome to the Jungle, Fukwad. Sucks to be you.

The executive order stands in stark contrast to how Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s administration initially approached investigating Mr. Trump’s first term. When Mr. Biden took office, his top officials repeatedly insisted that they were focused on the future, and that looking backward was a waste of time and energy.
Obviously, they lied about that.
John Durham was appointed by Billy the Bagman to find dirt on the FBI for trump and was allowed to continue his work well in to Biden's tenure. His work came to nothing.
Who is "Billy the Bagman?"

They didn't
The repeated failures by Democrats and the Justice Department to hold Mr. Trump accountable — whether that was during his first term or when he was indicted twice when he was out of office — have led some to believe that Democrats need to adopt tactics similar to the ones Mr. Trump starting employing on Monday.

Alex Aronson, the executive director of Court Accountability, an advocacy group, said Mr. Biden should have clearly signaled on his first day in office that his administration would aggressively pursue accountability for wrongdoing. But Mr. Aronson said Mr. Biden and the rest of his administration, including Merrick B. Garland, his attorney general, were far too focused on restoring norms than trying to hold Mr. Trump and his administration accountable.
They did delete them, but they were recovered.

Here is a thread on X where this reporter looked carefully at a case at random of a single J6 defendant.

Anyone who has been to court or seen court cases on streaming services knows something is off. Something is really wrong here. But nobody could do anything....few people cared enough to even try.
This is scary no matter which side politically you prefer or promote.

I'm not an alarmist.....
I barely pay attention to politics....and if not for the recent forced retirement I doubt I would notice much in the news.
But this story is extremely upsetting. This is NOT the free speech that the founding fathers envisioned.

This is overblown charges to throw people in internment camps.

No different from when we threw Japanese Americans into internment camps during WW2....simply because they had Asian ancestry....not because they actually did anything wrong.

This is the reason for the 2nd ammendment. So citizens can defend themselves against a tyrannical government. Demonized first in the court of public opinion and then rounded up as criminals and incarcerated without justice. The sham trials were a joke.

60 billion dollars in a class action lawsuit sounds a lot like 30 pieces of silver to me.

When they come for me.(thats a "when" and not an" if")...I have no illusion or fantasy that I'll get a presidential pardon. Neither should you.
I'm getting nervous even posting on this board. There's no telling when the tide will shift and I become an extremist and an enemy of the state. Simply for having the wrong opinion of the moment.

Get back to me when you have something real to complain about. BTW, isn't that logic the reciprocal of what you morons have been spouting about the anti gun laws that the democrats have been pushing? LMAO, what a difference a week makes when you are worried about authoritarian governing.
So, you didn't read post #9. I saw an interview with former Deputy Asst. AG Mary McCord yesterday. She was being asked about George Toscas being reassigned. During the interview she explained Toscas had tremendous experience in the role he had at the DoJ having worked in counter intelligence for almost two decades. She worked closely with him for years and in her opinion is excellent at his job. Well, his old job. The one he is being moved out of because....
Toscas was a senior counterintelligence attorney who played a key role in deciding to search Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence to retrieve the classified documents as part of that federal investigation.

To no one's surprise, trump has put a personal vendetta above the security of the country. These things are concerning to people who care about how effectively the DoJ does its work. Not so much to people like yourself who mindlessly defend all things trump because of how badly voting for him reflects on you.

Super! Using leftist supermarket tabloids for your conspiracy theories.
Sorry, but centre left in US is centre right in the rest of the world not pumped with corporate media...

Just a question...
Wasn't he also involved in the creation of the phoney evidence of classified document folders pictures taken at Mar a Lago?

Sorry, but center left really means loopy, over the rainbow, purple haired whackjobs.

Your cut and paste "income equaity" graphs are just a little phony as portions of Europe are Socialist, not free market economies.

If you ever figure out there are differences, it may be an opportunity to cut and paste more unsourced charts and graphs.

What your graph shows is that for both Republican and democrat administrations income levels do not change.

So your point is nonsense. Call it COMMIE BULLSHIT. You are obviously a Brit communist, just sayin'

Thus the need for Biden to pardon everyone in Trump's vindictive sights.

You're a fool. To no one's surprise, Trump responded to politically motivated legal harassment by petulant children who put party over country. Where was your indignation when Biden was discovered to have sensitive docs in his GARAGE that he had ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT TO POSSESS in the first place? Take your whiny garbage down the road. No one is buying it. A president depends on loyalty. This guy doesn't have any. He isn't the POTUS and he is sworn to support the sitting POTUS which he clearly did not do.

I'm sure that if you read carefully you can find just about anyone and everyone described in this list.

“Past misconduct” is perfectly actionable. And investigating alleged criminality and prosecuting it is absolutely an executive function and meritorious.

Bug’s post makes no sense at all.

Bottom line, Democrats have used lawfare against Trump for eight years now so even if Trump does it for four years, democrats are still ahead in the lawfare department. After you open a can of worms, you've got a can of open worms and democrats are the experts when it comes to opening cans of worms.

I know you folks know this is wrong.

Hegseth takes actions against Trump foe Mark Milley

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has decided to remove retired Gen. Mark A. Milley’s security detail, suspend his security clearance, and order an inspector general inquiry into his behavior as the Pentagon’s top officer, senior defense officials said Tuesday, taking extraordinary action against a frequent target of President Donald Trump.

The move comes after years of Trump criticizing Milley for perceived disloyalty and Milley acknowledging in congressional testimony that he had served as a source for several unflattering books about the first Trump administration. Milley, 66, retired in 2023 following four tumultuous years as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under both Trump and President Joe Biden.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/01/28/mark-milley-hegseth-trump/

This is why Biden pardoned Milley. It's also why trump nominated a sock puppet like Hegseth.
