Contempt for equality, inclusivity, humanitarian programs, public service, higher education, science, medicine, the free press, the arts, and the U.S. Constitution will now result in a reverse migration. Not as cataclysmic as nuclear physicists' stampeding to the U.S. to escape the rising fanaticism in Europe in the 1930s, but, quite likely, the imminent expatriation will be every bit as corrosive over the coming years.
America was great when it attracted the best and the brightest. Now, it repels them.
Some like it that way, of course.
And, of course, the U.S. is becoming a place that the best and brightest from elsewhere will no longer want to contribute to.

A French university courting U.S.-based academics said it has already received nearly 300 applications for researchers seeking "refugee status" amid President Trump's elimination of funding for several scientific programs.
Last month, Aix-Marseille University, one of the country's oldest and largest universities, announced it was accepting applications for its Safe Place For Science program, which it said offers "a safe and stimulating environment for scientists wishing to pursue their research in complete freedom."
This week, Aix-Marseille said it had received 298 applications, and 242 of them are eligible and currently up for review. Of the eligible applicants, 135 are American...
