The Trump Administration's thoughts on the War in Ukraine, in a Nutshell

So Trumps answer is to award victory to Putin

What ever happened to the US standing up for what is right?

This is no victory for Moscow. If anything it may be a fatal loss.....but there's no point in paying for more meat grinder....time to rebuild.

Time to heal....time to stop the boomerang bucks bazaar.

What is Putin giving up?
He started it

Ukrainian and Baltic nationalists.

NATO.
No one in his right mind wants to invade Russia. If you think Germany wants to invade Russia, ask a German veteran of World War II who tried. He will say, "Good Heavens no! Where did that stupid question come from?"

German tanks already came on the Russian soil. And no, the new generations of Germans (especially western Germans) are ready to fight and die.
Did you see results of the todays elections? Only twenty percents of Germans are definitely against the war, and most of them live in East Germany.

They are in favor of helping Ukraine. They are not in favor of invading Russia.

Quoted from JDV's twitter feed...

[begin quote] For three years, President Trump and I have made two simple arguments: first, the war wouldn't have started if President Trump was in office; second, that neither Europe, nor the Biden administration, nor the Ukrainians had any pathway to victory. This was true three years ago, it was true two years ago, it was true last year, and it is true today.

And for three years, the concerns of people who were obviously right were ignored. What is Niall's actual plan for Ukraine? Another aid package? Is he aware of the reality on the ground, of the numerical advantage of the Russians, of the depleted stock of the Europeans or their even more depleted industrial base? Instead, he quotes from a book about George HW Bush from a different historical period and a different conflict.

That's another currency of these people: reliance on irrelevant history.

President Trump is dealing with reality, which means dealing with facts. And here are some facts:

Number one, while our Western European allies' security has benefitted greatly from the generosity of the United States, they pursue domestic policies (on migration and censorship) that offend the sensibilities of most Americans and defense policies that assume continued over-reliance.

Number two, Russians have a massive numerical advantage in manpower and weapons in Ukraine, and that advantage will persist regardless of further Western aid packages. Again, the aid is currently flowing.

Number three, the United States retains substantial leverage over both parties to the conflict.

Number four, ending the conflict requires talking to the people involved in starting it and maintaining it.

Number five, the conflict has placed--and continues to place--stress on tools of American statecraft, from military stockpiles to sanctions (and so much else).

We believe the continued conflict is bad for Russia, bad for Ukraine, and bad for Europe. But most importantly, it is bad for the United States. Given the above facts, we must pursue peace, and we must pursue it now.

President Trump ran on this, he won on this, and he is right about this. It is lazy, ahistorical nonsense to attack as "appeasement" every acknowledgment that America's interest must account for the realities of the conflict. That interest--not moralisms or historical illiteracy--will guide President Trump's policy in the weeks to come. And thank God for that. [end of quote]
When the going gets tough the tough get going, take a back seat, and watch how real men finish a deal.

Actually, their officially declared goal is "decolonisation of the Russian Federation".
WASHINGTON—The Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, also known as the Helsinki Commission, today announced the following online briefing:

DECOLONIZING RUSSIA
A Moral and Strategic Imperative

Thursday, June 23, 2022
10:00 a.m.

Register: The Page Cannot be found

Russia’s barbaric war on Ukraine—and before that on Syria, Libya, Georgia, and Chechnya—has exposed the Russian Federation’s viciously imperial character to the entire world. Its aggression also is catalyzing a long-overdue conversation about Russia’s interior empire, given Moscow’s dominion over many indigenous non-Russian nations, and the brutal extent to which the Kremlin has taken to suppress their national self-expression and self-determination.

Serious and controversial discussions are now underway about reckoning with Russia’s fundamental imperialism and the need to “decolonize” Russia for it to become a viable stakeholder in European security and stability. As the successor to the Soviet Union, which cloaked its colonial agenda in anti-imperial and anti-capitalist nomenclature, Russia has yet to attract appropriate scrutiny for its consistent and oftentimes brutal imperial tendencies.

The following panelists are scheduled to participate:

  • Fatima Tlis, Circassian journalist
  • Botakoz Kassymbekova, Lecturer, University of Basel
  • Erica Marat, Associate Professor, College of International Security Affairs, National Defense University
  • Hanna Hopko, Chair, Democracy in Action Conference; former Member of the Ukrainian Parliament
  • Casey Michel, Author, American Kleptocracy

  • Decolonization of Russia to Be Discussed at Upcoming Helsinki Commission Briefing - CSCE
  • Western countries were not thinking this way until Russia's invasion of Ukraine. How has that invasion helped Russia? Two more countries have joined NATO. NATO countries are increasing military spending. The Russian economy is near collapse. Many more Russian soldiers have been killed than during Russia's longer war in Afghanistan. The "decolonisation of the Russian Federation" would not require the invasion of Russia. That is not being considered.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that the United States voted against a UN resolution condemning Russia for its war of aggression against Ukraine because it was "antagonistic" and contradicted efforts to negotiate an end to the war.

Source: Rubio in an interview with Breitbart News, as reported by European Press

Details: According to the United States, if the UN wants to be useful in the 21st century, it must return to its charter mission, which is "the prevention and ending of war and conflict," Rubio said.

"President Trump wants to end this war. He thinks far too many people have died and he wants to bring it to an end. We didn’t feel it was conducive, frankly, to have something out there at the UN that’s antagonistic to either side. We’re trying to get these guys to the table," he said.

Unfortunately, Rubio said, Ukraine did not agree, and wanted to "move forward on theirs".

"We then went to the Security Council with our compromise, which I think is very fair language and it basically says ‘war is a terrible thing’," he added.

"So I thought it was good we got it done at the Security Council and the Russians didn’t veto it. I’m not telling you that that is going to end this conflict, and I can’t wait until Elise Stefanik is there because it will be great to have her leadership, but I certainly think our language is better language and hopefully furthers the cause of peace," he added.

Background:

・The day before, the UN Security Council approved a resolution on Ukraine proposed by the United States, which does not call Russia an aggressor, but calls for an "immediate end to the conflict".

・Also the day before, the UN General Assembly approved a Ukrainian resolution condemning Russian aggression, and the United States voted against it – along with Russia and less than two dozen other countries.

・Before the vote at the UN General Assembly, the United States had criticized the document.

・On 24 February, the UN General Assembly adopted the resolution with amendments introduced by the United States, which, among other things, called for the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity. Ukraine abstained from voting on this document.

They always think that way. Thats their geopolitical pattern. At least twice a century they gather together and go to fight Russia. Everytime they are get beated, their cities destroyed, men killed, women raped, children orphanate. They know it, and anyway they are doing it.

  • Many more Russian soldiers have been killed than during Russia's longer war in Afghanistan.
There was no "war" in Afghanistan. Just a little military operation.
And no, right now Russian losses are hardly higher than losses in car incidents.

  • The "decolonisation of the Russian Federation" would not require the invasion of Russia. That is not being considered.
Anyway, we are not going to allow them decolonise us. We'll decolonise them.

You are creating your own problems. If Putin ruled the Russian Federation well Ukraine would have wanted to join. National greatness does not consist of conquering countries that want to be independent. That is why Western leaders do not want to conquer Russia.

More than half of Ukraine, at the last more or less free elections, back in 2010 wanted to join Russia.

National greatness does not consist of conquering countries that want to be independent. That is why Western leaders do not want to conquer Russia.
Before achieving "greatness", we need to survive. And survive depends on the ability of collective self-defense.
