The Trump administration is building a national citizenship data system

The big lie was just that, a big lie.

No evidence exists to support that lie.

The white wing wants to be able to decide who can vote, so they get the results they want.

This isn’t new.

Republicans have been making wildly exaggerated or totally fake claims of voter fraud (without ever producing any evidence) since the 1990’s.

yes, the Trump regieme did indeed try and assemble a national voter database in 2017, They were thwarted when states refused to participate. After that, Trump’s “commission” (which was staffed by anti immigrant and vote suppression right wing activists) fell apart.

This is the real Big Lie. It killed 700,000 Americans:

“The recent history of elections is littered with failed data matching efforts, often driven by false fraud narratives, which have entangled eligible voters. The first Trump administration attempted the beginnings of a similar data project, though the effort shuttered after most states balked at sharing their voter data.

The fact that the development and rollout follow President Trump's falsehoods about widespread noncitizen voting makes election experts wary of how this new tool will work.
[…]
Everyone registering to vote must swear, under penalty of perjury, that they are a U.S. citizen. The consequences for noncitizens who try to vote include fines, prison time and deportation. Officials say that deterrent is why cases of ineligible people casting ballots are incredibly rare — a fact that's become increasingly apparent as more and more states devote resources to uncovering the few people that slip through the cracks every election. Research has also shown that when noncitizens do vote, it's often not to commit fraud but rather because they misunderstood eligibility rules.”

Another ‘solution’ in search of a ‘problem’ that doesn’t exist.

Trump’s unwarranted, bizarre obsession with this non-issue continues.
Do you have any idea how long the US has been collecting data on its own citizens?

Not even sure it was that. I think a lot of them did it just because they get off on killing people.
Well, Cuomo was willing to kill off 5,000 old people rather than make Trump look good by sending the mikitsry medical ship.

First U.S. Census was taken in 1790.
Exactly, so this thread is such a fraud...I remember talking about huge data collection in AZ long before Trump was in office....They had no problem with it then... :dunno:

Your NARRATIVE of a gun registration is just that, a NARRATIVE of something that doesn't exist in REALITY, brah.
Not a THING. :eusa_hand:
You're not good with hypotheticals? Or precendent? Or principle?

In politics, every power you claim for government when your asshole is in there, will be available to the next asshole. Think about it. Or, well, nevermind.

Hopefully the stolen election of 2020 will be a bellwether of changes to come to thwart you communist assholes from doing it AGAIN.
Just as a sidenote, I'd like to emphasize that I think the Democrat-loyal USPO unions had a lot to do with it...and the Democrat-pushed mail-in ballots....during the Democrat-induced panic....during the height of the Pandemic....which continued during the first election after the first Democrat election loss in 8 years ...was their ammunition.

Talk about coincidence! 😁

I've nothing to hide. However, my first concern is the security and accuracy of the database. Regarding accuracy, responsibility of that will be placed under somebody that is knowledgeable and trustworthy. It's too bad in government partisanship plays a major factor in determining competency.

My second concern would be over the use of the data. Looking at Social Security, when started it was only a matter between Social Security, the employee and their employer. Then, according to a quick Google search, The IRS began using Social Security Numbers (SSNs) for federal income tax reporting in 1962. This marked a significant step in the IRS's ability to access and utilize financial data linked to individuals through their SSNs.

Party loyalty and loyalty to your country are opposites.

He's a little late. The FDR administration started using data (illegally?) gleaned from Social Security registration weeks after the program was inacted. Regardless of the (sky is falling) hysterics of the crazy TDS left, the reality is that American citizens are under constant scrutiny by both sides of the political spectrum including phony media polling data.
