The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson

How about Guttfeld and Watters.
They are hilarious.

So much fun watching those two snark their way to attempted humor. NOPE.

Gawd, I hate those two.

My most favorite moment with Johnny is when the Oak Ridge Boys did his show on November 11, 1988. My most favorite late singer, Steve Sanders, did the leading for each song that was done named "Gonna Take A Lot Of River" and "Bridges And Walls".

God bless you and his family always!!!

Holly

Lately they've been releasing a bunch of the classic reruns that up until now you only could order on DVD, if then, so it's pretty fun looking back. His monologues are a good chronicle of history in those decades he was on.

Here's a serious interview with Marlon Brando in 1968 shortly after Martin Luther King was shot.

I was in the audience for his last show. Extraordinary entertainer.

Looking back this is one of my favorite moments now

The only late night host that comes close to his talent was Jay Leno. The current crop of late night hosts are no talent unfunny hacks
Whatever humor they had was wiped out with their drooling anti-Trump hatred. Jimmy Kimmel was actually funny when he and Adam Corrola did "The Man Show". But then Trump happened and Kimmel turned into a sniveling hack.
Maybe since they've lost their intelligent audience, they realize they don't need to be funny anymore. Colbert is the worst.
colbert was never funny

No, he was very funny at one time. No more though.

late night talk shows are unwatchable nowadays because of all the left wing hate
It's hard to do old vaudeville gags with a busty assistant..
These programs were meant to forget about problems. To reduce the pressures building up from the world around us. And at times show a social commentary. Today and for some years it is just Propaganda for the Progressive Socialists and Globalism.

TV is for entertaining and teaching. Promoting propaganda is something we were taught happens in nations of tyranny. Carson was a liberal. But he never broached politics as a deep state spokesperson. You are flustered with one channel that has a few people who spout some conservative issues. What would you do if everything was reversed?

You can thank Rush Limpbag and his ilk for turning politics into the equivalent of a sporting event.

True with the left too - I used to like Thom Hartmann back in the Air America early days opposing the Iraq War, but eventually he just became another Obama and Clinton ass-kisser, typical partisan - blaming the other side for everything.
