The fifth member of my extended family has just lost his life due to drugs. There is no upside to narcotics, meth, fentanyl or marijuana.

Sorry for your loss!!! Best to avoid drugs off all kinds (including prescribed ones) when possible. But I do believe that of the drugs you mentioned (narcotics, meth, fentanyl, or marijuana), that marijuana is in a separate category of its own and shouldn't be lumped together with the rest.

I have never known anyone to overdose and die from marijuana and I do believe that there may be some medicinal value to it under certain circumstances. I'm willing to bet that there are many legally prescribed drugs that are more dangerous than pot is and I personally believe that booze kills more people that pot does.

Anyway, sad when anyone dies from making a poor choice.

I know many people that have lost their lives to fentanyl laced drugs .. its sad ..
