Regional Dreams


Well, this Super Bowl is a fine presentation of 'regional fanfare' --- the fans from clam-chowder friendly New England vs. the fans from the colorful southern city of Atlanta, Georgia.

You rarely see a Super Bowl pitting region-symbolic teams. There was the Rams-Steelers (California-Pennsylvania --- how different!) Super Bowl, the Raiders-Eagles Super Bowl (California-Pennsylvania), and a few others but that's it.

I'm watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.

It's the underdog TeamFluff vs. the favored TeamRuff.

Then there's the Kitty-Play Halftime Show!

With the Super Bowl in New York City where the Puppy Bowl is filmed, Animal Planet established a "Puppy Bowl Experience" at the Discovery Times Square exhibition space. The "experience" included a 15,000 square feet (1,400 m2) where people could play with puppies, a recreation of the Puppy Bowl set, and advertising sponsor areas (source of information: Wikipedia).

Here's a great Puppy Bowl TV commercial: "Don't drink bottled water without feeling conscious of the bounty of the manufacturing process and how it does not have to be necessarily detrimental to Earth. Drink Poland Spring or Evian bottled water this summer when you go camping!"
