He won his first PGA tournament in only his third start with a stunning eagle on the last hole. But that would be his only win and his career quickly went downhill. He joined the LIV tour and sucked on that tour as well. I always thought his bizarre swing would let him down but apparently he has severe anxiety problems which you would never have guessed when he dominated the college ranks. He is now on Bubba Watson's LIV team, and Bubba who has had his own issues took Wolf under his wing. I wish him well, he is very talented even though I find it hard to watch his swing!

PGA history is filled with people who were unbeatable for a short time then faded into the "also rans." Spieth is the best recent example. The whole golf world witnessed the death of his "wonder years" on one hole at Augusta, and he never recovered. Sergio was a magician with the putter...then he wasn't.

Jordan and Sergio were never on the verge of quitting golf at age 25. They've had big slumps but nothing like Matt Wolf.

if there is one golfer i wished i swung like it would be Sergio. He can really flatten that downswing

Tiger had a great run and then imploded.

True but hardly a reasonable comparison to what happened with Matt Wolf. He was the number one player coming out of college, won his THIRD START on tour and then within a couple years was done on tour.

Some golfers lose their mojo quickly.
