"In the wake of another fatal shooting by federal immigration officers in Minneapolis, many people are wondering what can be done. The answer has been right in front of us all along.

Despite the incredulity with which some legal observers meet the idea, state and local prosecutors can prosecute federal officials for violating state criminal laws. Prosecutors should be gathering and securing evidence and seriously considering filing charges — sooner rather than later.

Not every prosecution will succeed, and all will face obstacles that are built into our legal system. But critically, bringing these state and local prosecutions could produce deterrent effects that are so desperately needed now.

U.S. law, at least theoretically, provides a range of options for holding government officers accountable; the problem is that many of those options are unavailable in practice where federal officers are concerned

I'd say this is a seriously overlooked fact of life issue that is masked, because of the emotional toll recent events have taken on the American psyche. There exists case law on this very subject/issue. Much of it is very cut & dried. Not everybody will be happy with it, but such is the nature of law in society.

This is why the administration has shaken up DOJ

they seem to believe that shitt bogus opinions from lawyers on staff are a cover for law breaking.

Surprise.

But will next president even want to go down the rabbit hole of prosecuting all these creeps?

Are you familiar with the legal sophistry created by Earl Warren in the case Pierson v. Ray in 1967? It's called Qualified Immunity and basically holds cops doing their jobs above the law.

Nothing will happen to those who kill civilians. Like the IDF, ICE agents are celebrated for murder.

The answer is to shoot people and then hope that the victim has been arrested for something at some point or is a tranny. Or both.
