Lampooning our political elite is as old as the hills. Why all of sudden this puts balls in uproar is odd to me.
It's the manner in which they're doing it. Inferring that "The end is nigh" and like that.
That's not like making fun of the way someone talks, or going to McDonald's..or their ears, or getting a BJ.
They're inferring (wrongly) that the president of the US is a criminal and it's a foregone conclusion that they and their family are already tried, convicted, and sentenced.
That's not an American way of doing things at all. I've only seen it in 2 SNL skits thus far. Neither one was funny.
Neither is trotting out 1/2 dozen of leftist actors that are against the president (and have proclaimed so, loudly and publicly) all in 1 skit and expecting someone to think there's no bias going on, or that that's not fucked up.
Sinead O'Connor's career was done for pulling political shit like that on SNL.
The Dixie Chick's career was hurt in the same manner as well. Ofc that was Bush then, the deep state swamp rat didn't like that stuff and flexed some muscle and made them pay.
Trump's a bigger man for not being like Bush, and all those actors and SNL look like chumps for that skit.
TBH, I doubt Lorne Michaels wrote that skit, because he's almost always funny.
That skit was just retarded.
