I think it's just the natural human instinct of self-preservation kicking in. The RNC can puff its chest, make grandiose proclamations about how many people will be there and how much of a rockin good time it will be. But..in the end, all the delegates and attendees are human beings. And even though they may hop on social media and Internet message boards and sound off how gathering in Jacksonville will be awesome and what a show Don will put on, they're not going there themselves. Packed arena, people shoulder to shoulder breathing, coughing, and sneezing. It will only take a couple of unknowingly infected people to create a virus firestorm. No reasonable human being is signing up for that.
