The Reflecting Pool repairs are COMPLETE, taking 1/10th the time and 1/20th the INITIAL cost estimates to complete the work.

Everything I've read about the use of algaecides is that it wasn't environmentally friendly with wildlife e.g. clorine. The products I listed seem to have that concern addressed.
BTW the reason Sodium percarbonate works as an algaecide is because it breaks down into hydrogen peroxide and sodium carbonate when dissolved in water. They have been using Hydrogen Peroxide for a long time in that pool I believe.

To clean up the algae propagandist in this room the fact is:
Greenwater Services who is sucessfully removing the algae and p'o ing the leftist spin dr's was contracted in April and is part of the budget for the repairs, this was expected due to what comes out the piping after you turn back on water like when your city= town shuts of your water to do work and you turn the water on what comes out is it ever clean or is it clay dirt color, well imagine the irony of the fact there is a collection of swamp in those pipes due to neglect by the swamp critters in the Obama Biden era- the kvetching is about the result of neglect and or failure from previous administrations.

I used H2O2 in my hot tub twenty years ago--I am aware of the purification qualities. I am no expert in any of this, I just ask questions in search of answers.

You may be right. I do find it hard to believe that there are all these chemicals/substances that are apparently readily available that would eliminate the algae problem and no one has thought to use them for the past 100+ years that pool has existed. Just sayin.
/----/ Gubmint loves building stuff but is terrible at maintaining it. They only like to spend money where it shows. Building the pool was great; maintaining the pipes and fixing the leaks??? Well, no one will see that happening.

It was already an algae farm. The reflecting pool is 18-30 inches deep and to make it reflect it has to be still. So it’s a huge pool of warm stagnant water in the middle of a swamp that has always been filled with algae but the liner is the problem.

But Trump claimed he was going to fix the algae... that's what makes this so funny.
There’s no doubt that if we wanted to fix this problem it was going to require far more than just putting in a liner or even adding a filtration system (which it already has). I can only imagine the catterwalling that would have happened if Trump had proposed tearing out the existing pool to replace it with a new one. Not to mention the ridiculous cost that likely would have totaled. If you recall in 2010 they just installed a precast concrete floor of the pool and the ozone treatment that cost 34 million. And when they were done there was a huge algae bloom that happened. The solution the is the same as now. Vacuum the pool and treat it. The only difference between then and now is you weren’t on here acting like the bloom was going to cause the end of human existence then.

You are right. Obama did not make a big deal about this renovation. Trump did. He was going to outdo Obama, who lives rent free in his head.

The damage done to the pool by Vandals is the major problem since the clean up of the Algae is a simple fix.
You must be the most gullible fool in the world if you believe that.

The giant gash is the major problem since the algae is easily repaired using chemicals.

Why do you believe that is not true?

Reflecting Pool Contract Has ‘Inflated’ Profit Margin, Government Analysis Finds

The firm that was given a no-bid contract to fix the troubled landmark is charging 20 percent. The typical profit margin is 6 percent to 12 percent, internal records show.
.....

I'm sure they are grateful the taxpayers are footing the bill. Lord knows Trump would stiff them, otherwise.
And still less than Chimpy spent.

/—-/ You’re so gullible you think it’s happening on its own.

Because the reflecting pool is under surveillance all the time, and yet some ANTIFA Ninja was able to cut a 250-long foot gash into the liner without being seen. Yeah, that's the ticket

Not the more prosaic explanation that

Trump hired an unqualified contractor on the cheap who did a shitty job.
He then drove his motorcade (including a 20,000 lb armored limo) over the surface while it was still curing
And when there was the inevitable algae bloom, he poured gallons of hydrogen peroxide - a known paint stripper - into the water.

/—-/ I wasn’t clear. Not the algae —- I meant the ripped and cut lining.

But it's the algae that's getting all the attention

The lining is ripping because it was made of cheap material, it was a rushed job, Trump drove his motorcade over it, and then poured in paint-stripper to kill the algae.

There were no ANTIFA ninjas cutting the lining.

/—-/ You have no proof of that. I understand that’s the agenda you’re pushing to protect the vandals, but you have no proof.

You really have to wonder what the people who are close to him have to go through at gatherings....I would imagine there is a lot of ear pods being used whenever he's around so they can pretend not to hear him.
/—-/ Ear pods???? It’s amazing how much crap you clowns make up on the spot and expect us to believe.

And the Obama admin didnt? So it's worse to spend money on a project thinking you are going to be successful than spending it on a project thinking youre not?

So it's just that Trump talked about it. That's the difference.

You are a clown.
