The real cause is our environmental woes is the disease of consumerism and capitalism. For consumerism, what makes you happy is what you are told you need to be happy. Not what it actually takes to be happy. As for capitalism, our whole capitalist system is based around waste and obsolescence. Seeing how these things are the cause of environmental problems, a solution won't be found with them. Do you know who I think would have had the will and ability to do something positive about the environment? This guy.
