As I've said numerous times on this forum recently, we need to extend an olive branch out to the other side in the name of unity and give them some of the things they wanted, such as more justices on the Supreme Court.

The court is fine.....it has proven that it is not a rubber stamp. The 9-0 ballot decision was pretty impressive.

I am absolutely amazed at the ignorance of the American public. Notice, I am not claiming the American public is dumb, or stupid, or have a low level of intelligence. They are just ignorant, most of the time, willingly ignorant.

Confirmation bias is a huge thing. If you believe in something you don't search out opinions that confirm that belief, that is like building a house on a foundation of sand. You diligently seek information, facts, that will change your mind. If you can't find them, well then you have built a house with a foundation of stone.

Like all this talk about the MSM. That is not FOX New, or not even CNN and MNSBC. That is not journalism, it is entertainment. Merely two sides of the same counterfeit coin. I haven't watched any of them since Bush Jr. was president. But then agan, maybe they are the modern MSM.

But we got a problem when large swaths of the American public say you can't believe professional journalist, who work with fact checkers and editors, seek corroboration of their contentions, have professional ethics, a college education in their field. Nope, they trust the toboggan wearing high school dropout broadcasting on YouTube and collecting checks from Russia every month. Can't you see, that is a damn problem.

Like right now, in Congress, two bills. One will change the method of calculating the critical cost of living increases to Social Security every year, significantly reducing the benefits for the vast majority of Americans, especially true for those with the lowest incomes. The second eliminates what is called the Social Security offset.

Say you worked for a company that gave you a pension but during that time you were exempt from the FICA tax. I best example I can think of, Federal employees prior to 1984. I mean if there is a "Deep State", well someone that has been in the swamp for forty damn years is a pretty good candidate to be a member. Their Social Security benefit, like yours and mine, is calculated based on their income. But the vast majority of that income was not subject to the FICA tax. If they get a pension, well it is offset, seventy-five cents on the dollar, from their Social Security benefit. Makes sense, hell they still getting a 25% bonus that they didn't pay for.

And look, it is not many people, probably less than a million. And they are making good damn money, Social Security based on income that was never subject to FICA taxes, and a plush pension. They get a nice fat raise, funded by you and I. What to we get, a cut in our increase, tens of millions of us, hundreds of millions. I mean is the picture not becoming clear? And we aren't one damn week away from the election.
