Grammys Favor Politics Over Music
By Bridget Johnson, Political Mavens
February 12, 2007
Two words: Dixie Chicks. And how sad is that? Mary J. Blige clearly deserved to win Record of the Year for Be Without You. Not only is the woman a tremendous talent, she is a survivor and an inspiration for all in the music industry. When life threw curve balls at her, she bit the bullet and moved on. She experienced a rocky road, like many musicians, eventually took responsibility for turning her life around, and came out of it a stronger woman.
...when it comes to awarding top musical talent at the Grammys, it should be awarding top musical talent. No political statements, no take that, red staters! swings. So Mary J., know youre a winner. And congrats, too, to L.A.s own Red Hot Chili Peppers for picking up the most Grammys of their career you guys rock!
