He did not hold back - and she continuously refused - over and over - to acknowledge direct quotes that Morgan read of the many-many-many outrageously racist things she wrote and said. She never - not once - owned it. No once.

He used her own direct quotes - and many of them - and she never, not once, owned up to them.

I am not her defender but I saw this already and to bring in the Michael guy in a "gotcha" moment was really in poor taste and refoects on Piers, not Joy. Reminded me of the Jerry Springer show. His interview/debate with her, whatever. Doing a "surprise, we have your nemesis here, do you have anything to say to him"? Is low brow journalism and just generally a poor way to operate to an unsuspecting guest. It would be different if this were a war criminal or some legitimate global interest to the world, but she was just a poor, angry media talking head. Confront her without the histrionics.

Then you don't know the background, and thus didn't watch it.
She deserved the ambush because she demonized Michael on her show 50 times, and refused to ever appear with him anywhere for him to refute. She was invited before to appear with him and debate - she never did - just like she never debated anyone else in her career. She is a gutter snipe. Her career is to stand safely at a distance and vomit her hits on people, who she would never face.
So, yes, absolutely Piers cornered her - and it was about time someone did.
