The Opera leaves the Trump Kennedy Center. Who cares?

^^
More liberal tears, more people big mad at Trump. The opera is leaving. Who really cares?

This Seinfeld episode is the extent of my opera experience.

I was a voice major in college, sang and studying opera as part of my degree, and never liked it. And don't to this day. And I'm not alone, obviously.

Yeah....I don't think most people care about this at all.

So, Leftists stop coming after Trump puts his name on the building?

Well, there is only one thing to do, rename the country after Trump and watch them all leave.

The Opera had been at the Kennedy Center for 50 years giving the public an opportunity to experience it
Trump does not care
MAGA does not care

Kennedy Center has deteriorated since Trump took over
Acts refuse to perform
Attendance has fallen off

That's right. We don't care.

.

These days, nobody does care about the opera except for the queer crowd.

My late hubby and I used to have season passes, but when the new gay director completely queered the opera up, we stopped going. He started hiring queer local vocalists for all the primary roles and then direction started suffering and set decoration got ugly. When we finally walked out of a production, we knew. He lost the ability to attract big name performers.

I've started really enjoying the performances by the choral company of my own small town church, and the choir of the Cathedral nearby really stunned me when I heard them sing.

I doubt if we need any of the queer opera companies. They don't care about quality and all they care about is flouncing around on stage, acting important.

They're done.

Progressives turned the Kennedy Center into one of its Propaganda elements. For decades. Trump is playing you now.

Kennedy Center got good attendance until Trump took over

Trump always points to ratings and attendance to demean his political opponents

Attendance & Sales Trends
Yes — attendance and ticket sales at the Kennedy Center have dropped significantly.
Multiple analyses and news reports show that ticket sales and audience participation have declined sharply compared with prior years:
  • A Washington Post analysis found ticket sales dropped dramatically after leadership changes in 2025, with roughly 43% of tickets unsold at major venues (Opera House, Concert Hall, Eisenhower Theater), compared with much higher sell-through rates in 2023–2024.
  • Subscription sales for 2025 were also down significantly year-over-year, with overall revenue from season packages dropping by about 36% compared with the previous season.
  • Some shows reportedly had very low seating — including examples where performances were far below typical capacity in mid-season.

Trump is driving the Kennedy Center to the ground

They just need to book better acts. ;)
