The idea has been floated before. The question would be where would the seat of power generate from? Washington DC of course.

Would Mexico City and Ottawa still be seats of power? Probably.

How many senators and congressmen would we have in the new government? Would our military be enhanced? Would our national debt be bigger?

What would the new revenues look like?

Who would then be considered border breachers?

Weaker. Far weaker. Mostly because of the massive influx of individuals with no work ethic expecting the Government to do and fix everything for them.

Get shed of the Quebeckers and Cartels and things might be OK. ;)
That's a lot of geography I think it would make us even land-wise bigger than Russia

In Canada there are 10 provinces and three territories. They would each become separate states. As such each could have no more than two senators and a significant increase in a number of congresspersons, depending upon how many districts each new state established.
Mexico has 32 states, and the same scenario would be set for them.
In both cases, both Canada and Mexico have a tendency to lean left in their politics, so....we don't need them joining the United States.
That said, it would be better if Trump could convince Finland to sell Greenland to the United States. There are only about 66,000 people on the entire continent and with global warming, it could end up being a benefit in the long run.

That certainly would be quite a feat, considering it’s Denmark that possess Greenland…
