which is oddly enough, less than 150 meters.
either way, it is not that long of a shot

Which is what I just said, based on information that is coming in now. But during the rally yesterday, the only surrounds visible in the camera feeds were a distant line of trees pretty far away, and after Trump was shot, the trees were a constant subject of discussion by the media at the event. Turns out that there are a wide range of buildings and rooftops in the immediate area.

That was a recording from the speaker's microphone which cancels out all background noise. A far-off shooter would have never been heard in that video. It is amazing how he was the only one hit. At least some of those around and behind him should have been hit from that many shots. It has all the markings of a publicity stunt, including his practiced raised fist.

A president nearly killed, one dead, and two critically injured amounts to a "publicity stunt." Now we know why far leftist progs are so totally beyond all reason.

Had that bullet arrived a half second sooner, from what I can see, Trump's head was turned about 15° to the left and the back of his head might have been hit, but a split second before the bullet arrived, he turned his head just that much to the right, probably saving his life, and all that was hit was his ear. It was that close.

Yep, he turned his head to look at the screen. That head movement saved his life.

That's a nothing shot, with iron sights.

I suppose, but this was a kid just out of high school with no previous obvious outward signs of political activism other than donating to leftwing causes like Act Blue, who drove an hour up to Butler and somehow gained access to a roof, hurriedly got into place and aimed a rifle into a crowd trying to hit the head of a former president running for POTUS again?

Something don't add up.
  • Who owned that building?
  • Why was access to the roof open?
  • How did this kid know? Did he try every building in the area?
  • And how was it that the Secret Service didn't anticipate that, ignoring the warnings of people there for 5 minutes who tried to point the shooter out to them?
Who lotta questions. Thank God that Trump was moving around and turned a bit just in the nick of time.

The roof was fewer than 150 meters (164 yards) from where Trump was speaking, a distance from which a decent marksman could reasonably hit a human-sized target. For reference, 150 meters is a distance at which U.S. Army recruits must hit a human-sized silhouette to qualify with the M16 assault rifle in basic training.

A good AR with a high twist rate can be deadly accurate.

Thank God the shooter went for the head and not center mass.

Had that bullet arrived one half second sooner, if Trump wasn't killed, he would most likely have a grave skull wound critically injuring him most certainly at best, ending his campaign to run for reelection and maybe leaving him permanently disabled.
