The new Randy Moss, Jeff Caldwell WR Cincy ... ... ...??? his tape is pretty good but limited

Highlights never include the "bad plays," you'd have to watch the games to see how many of those he had...

But what you see here is a high First Round caliber WR, one who played with a weak armed QB and properly adjusted to underthrown balls. And that's why he didn't have 1500 yards and 15 TDs.

But yeah, somebody will spend a First on this one, wow...

Another freak-a-zoid unheralded with an off the scale combine and tape of the same caliber

Bryce Lance

Some of the WR boards are about to "fluctuate" a bit..

We are about to see the greatest ever Earthquake of a WR Draft board in Draft history, between the preCombine rankings and where these kids go in the Draft, the ACTUAL Draft in April. Before the Combine, Caldwell was und-7th rd and Lance averaged about 5-6.

So far, Caldwell and Lance have moved into the "middle rounds," someone even suggesting Caldwell could be in play for Round 2.

An NFL offense needs a receiver to "threaten the top" of the defense, to keep safeties deep, require more than one guy to cover, to "loosen it up and make it more predictable." Randy Moss, TO, Eric Moulds and others were such players. You can't "fake" those. Guys who are good at catching a thrown football, and Lance and Caldwell both are, who have big frames and afterburners like they do, these guys are rare. Carnell Tate is a good receiver, as are Lemon and other. None of the top WRs are THESE TYPES, the Randy Moss TO types.

Both of these end up going First Round, Lance and Caldwell, that's EMH's call.

And in the end, 32 NFL teams knew more than all the fans who wanted their team to "take a late flyer" on the kid.

What did they know that we didn't?

It is something, something toxic, beyond the tape and the "drop issue."

failed combine drug test?
some medical condition detected by Combine MRI?
What is really between his ears?

On the plus side, one kid I suspected of having such "toxicity" got Drafted by NYG in Rd 6, JC Davis, the OT in this draft with the best game tape period. So whatever is "toxic" about JC isn't as "completely toxic" as it is with Jeff Caldwell.

Good luck to both in "getting it together." Your talent demands it!!!

Great comp brewing in NO regarding Jordan Tyson vs. Bryce Lance, Tyson the #8 overall pick, Lance a late fourth....

An entire thread, with 7 responses of just you talking to yourself.....
