I'm not an expert in economy, my knowledge of it leans on my own experience related to this issue.
Recently I have observed that retail stores and online stores commit many errors which are on their favor.
I went to a supplies store, the material I chose costs $15.99. When I went to the self pay cashier machine, I was charged $16.87. This is before taxes.
To me, that price was weird, plus the amount was greater than the amount shown on the shelves. I called the attendant and he went to verify my claim, and came back and fixed the problem. But it happens that this same problem has been repeated in other opportunities at the same store.
Buying in a Vitamin retail store, the same scenario, their cash machines overpricing the products. The attendant "fixing" the problem, but I guess only my case, because to fix the "real problem" the specialist must enter into the computer system of the store and change the price by making it to be in agreement with the price on shelf.
Buying supplies online, choosing between stores, I bought the product with the cheaper price I found. I selected to "pay now" and the next page showed me a greater amount of money for the supply, lets say, rather than $55.99 on the previous page, at the time to pay the price was increased to $57.49.
I restarted again my search and bought the supplies in a different online store.
And I have observed this price difference tendency as a common "error" found in stores of all kind.
Is this the "new economy" the one we must accept from now on?
