Thanksgiving needs to be replaced with Tribal Nations Day. A day of mourning for the Wampanoag.
Actual American History needs to be taught in schools.

I am familiar with American History. All history. Its deep and rich and I know first nations people wared amongst each other and I know we humans are all nomadic. Western culture was better at it. Like the Apache vs the Hopi. Indians slaughtered each other. The American mythos of Thanksgiving, European nomads getting assistance from nomads from Asia is a beautiful thing.

Hopi and Navahos are still fighting over access to 'sacred grounds' by the Hopi. The Hopi are out-numbered. lol

Human beings where nomads, We spread across the Serengeti across to Asia. Some of our tribes developed tools and compasses and better tools. Some of us humans hiked over the Bearing straight and some of us humans made ships and maps and compasses. One nomadic tribe won because they used compasses or gunpowder. Sorry, that mythos of the poor noble red man goes out the window.

We're supposed to feel bad because we beat a bunch of feral savages at their own games or something. Well, we don't, so tough shit.

First nations people are a microcosm of the human race, The Choctaws fought with American confederacy.

So did most Cherokee. Others who joined the Confederacy:

For almost 60 years we've known that the big myth is the settting and you perpetuate it

More than 50 years before the Pilgrims landed in Plymouth, Spanish colonists in Florida feasted with Native Americans in what some call the first Thanksgiving.

"
Late Florida historian Michael Gannon is credited with finding documents that supported the state's claim to holding the first-ever Thanksgiving.
“Not until 56 years later would the Pilgrims in Massachusetts observe their famous Thanksgiving. St. Augustine’s settlers celebrated the nation’s first Thanksgiving over a half-century earlier," Gannon said, per the Florida Historical Society.
Back in 1565, Pedro Menéndez de Avilés and 800 Spanish settlers founded the city and threw a Mass of Thanksgiving upon their arrival, according to the National Parks Service."

Spanish explorer Pedro Menéndez de Avilés and 800 soldiers, sailors and settlers joined local Native Americans in a feast that followed a Mass of Thanksgiving, according to Kathleen Deagan, distinguished research curator emerita of historical archaeology at the museum, located on the University of Florida campus.

Instead of flat-top hats and oversized buckles, conquistadors wore armor and colonists dressed in 16th-century Spanish garments. There wasn’t any cranberry sauce or pie — not even turkey. Instead, the meal consisted of an assortment of food, from salted pork and red wine shipped from Spain to yucca from the Caribbean, Deagan said.

“The holiday we celebrate today is really something that was invented in a sense,” she said. “By the time the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth, the people who settled America’s first colony with Menéndez probably had children and grandchildren living there.”

And about 50 before that:
The real story goes something like this: In 1511, messy political squabbling forced Ponce to surrender the governorship of Puerto Rico, an appointment he had held since 1509. As a consolation prize, King Ferdinand offered him Bimini, assuming the stalwart conquistador could finance an expedition and actually find it.
{...}
Oviedo’s satiric version of Ponce’s travels stuck. “You’ve got this incredible story that started out as an invention,” Francis says, “and by the 17th century, it has become history.” (For what it’s worth, Ponce died at age 47 after being wounded by an arrow in a fight with an Indian tribe in Florida.)
Said "Indian tribe" might recall that as a "feast." Regardless, {from the OP}:
What are the most poignant inaccuracies in this story?

One is that history doesn’t begin for Native people until Europeans arrive. People had been in the Americas for least 12,000 years and according to some Native traditions, since the beginning of time.

Why do whites who were fighting each other in Europe try talking about what was done here before they showed up? None of those tribes got on ships, floated over to Europe and decided to claim that Europe belonged to them based only on their law. Whites did that here, and they showed no civilized anything in doing so. They were filthy and unclean. They spread disease and when you talk about savages, that's what Euros were.

Sure We could have the school kids tie up and rape some white girls and murder them, then torture some white boys for weeks trying out the most excruciating tortures they can dream up, then award a prize to the ones who make their captives suffer the longest before dying, and other wonderful 'Tribal Nations' pastimes and cultural values.
why that.?
