Dear Rustic
Nope, it's people who can't forgive.
That can be true of Christians, Muslims, Atheists, Liberals or Conservatives,
Religious or Secular, anyone of any group/affiliation, belief or lack thereof.
What I find is the common factor in what prevents
differences or conflicts from being tolerated or resolved is
FORGIVENESS vs. UNFORGIVENESS
Think about it.
When you think of the people who commit crimes or abuses,
or refuse to take responsibility but project blame and/or anger/hatred
onto others, doesn't that "correlate" with the degree to which they cannot forgive?
Either "not forgiving" past conflicts, or certain people or groups they blame.
Now think about the people who are most tolerant, compassionate,
polite and diplomatic toward all others - aren't they also the most
forgiving where they harbor no ill will and do not speak negatively about or in front of others?
It isn't about what denomination, what political or religious affiliation that person is.
What matters is how inclusive and forgiving they are of ALL people,
where they don't carry "biases" or grudges against any particular person or group.
You posted that you blame "Muslims."
Don't you see the difference between the peaceful Muslims
who don't discriminate against anyone or harbor ill will, hatred or "intolerance"
vs.
the "Jihadist" or politically oppressive "Islamist" types who
BLAME others as the "enemy" and seek judgment, punishment,
retribution or rejection on "others" - so that ISN'T being
"forgiving or inclusive" but projecting "unforgiveness" in the form of rejection or RETRIBUTION.
Do you see the common factor in RETRIBUTION is NOT FORGIVING others.
Isn't that true of any person or group?
