This moment is like a revenge movie. The hero victim suffers years of brutal physical and psychological torture in the basement of some shabby house at the hands of some demented sicko. He finally escapes and comes back to take revenge by doing all the same things to the sicko that had been done to him. Starring Christian Bale as the hero and Ralph Fiennes as the sicko.
I'm just trying to figure out how MAGA people were so terribly tortured.
I certainly get Trump's motivations. In his mind, he's never done anything wrong, and anyone who holds him accountable for anything is mean and nasty and must pay the price. That's just standard psychosis and immature narcissism.
But the joy the MAGA people get from this revenge and carnage is different. It appears that, in their minds, they've been brutally tortured for a long time and are taking great pleasure in watching their captors suffer, convinced that the world is being cleansed while it's all burning down around them. This isn't about fairness or justice.
What is this?
I know there will be the standard personal insults and attacks and deflection here, and that's fine, but I wonder if anyone has a theory.
