These new ways you speak of are garbage. Woke math has no place in the real world. Several lessons I learned from math although there are more.
1. Always clear fractions into decimals. Fractions are pain in the ass to work with.
2. Don't bother trying to sq rt a negative number. Just conclude an irrational number is the answer.
3. Don't bother asking why a negative number times or divide another negative number yields a positive number.
1). What. These 3 go together.
These 3 are Fractions, Decimals, and Percents.
Rote basic math is, you know ONE of the 3, find the other 2.
Basic Math.
2) Sure, you are confused once again. √ -1 = i
Not irrational, the √ of a negative number is imaginary.
Do you even know the definition of a rational number or an irrational number, which have other to do with imaginary numbers. Except the fact that the Real Numbers combined with the Imaginary Numbers make up a new set of numbers called the Complex Numbers.
3) A negative sign can also mean 'the opposite of'
Therefore -(-3) means the opposite of -3, which is 3.
or (-4)(-5) means the opposite of the opposite of (4)(5) which is 20.
Thanks for letting me educate you.
My math teacher said this back in the days, "the only way you learn math is do math".
I wouldn't be shocked if the principal calls him into the office for saying that today.
1) True
2) False
