No but seriously, 'power' on this board is reflected accurately based on Reputation points.

Reputation points are earned when you respond brilliantly, reasonably, or faithfully.

Your volume of posts that are either brilliant or rational seem to be a major role in not earning these Karma-like nuggets of true power. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you are not brilliant, just that you are pushing irrational theories as fact with only a limited life and educational experience to draw from. I was in the same position as you were once.

But those who have high reps earned the right to either elevate you to the status of a debate prodigee, or crush your own reputation to such levels where everyone else will automatically recognize your deficiencies based on your past record of posts on this board.

Granted, some instigators on this board (like Bullypulpit) remain positive in reputation because we appreciate his passion for stirring up the discussion, and because we realize he only takes his position half-seriously.

And surely you could earn some worthless reputation on some kind of 'me too' and 'how extreme can you be' board like the Democratic Underground.

But everyone on those boards are afraid to debate here, because their template arguments are immediately discredited and none from those boards who feed from the Jonestown trough have the experience to critically argue their positions.

But if you come here expecting to argue an opinion seriously without being able to back up the facts in a debate format, your reputation will seriously suffer.

Anyway, that's the system of Democracy here, and why I call this discussion board home after more than a decade of pretty devout Internet use.

I hope everyone else also appreciate the good thing we have going here.
