Yes and coal fired plants can be in the Gigawatts range too. Solar is a mere pittance comparatively. If there are 12,000 residents on that island the solar system is almost at maximum capacity with 70kw per individual. And, that doesn't count businesses, infrastructure, etc. Standard grid power is 200 amps (50kw) per household.
