The internet MUST be protected from the radicals and partisans who seek to control it.

The right use the excuse that "its a private business"

The left uses the excuse that you should just "create your own app/site"

You're both wrong and right at the same time.

Private business should be protected from government intrusion.

And competition breeds advancements.

Only problem EVERYONE seems to overlook that I have been expressing for several years is you can't "create your own" when all of the servers (a requirement for being online) are controlled by those who wish to control it's content. Be it Microsoft or Amazon, without those data servers you have NO CHANCE to compete nationally much less globally.
Yes there are smaller server farms but just like in the mobile industry those smaller companies lease access from the big conglomerates.

Think of it this way.
You're driving through a red or blue state and the highway system is controlled by the partisans of those states. Sound reasonable? Of course not. And what is the internet but a digital highway...

We are on a VERY SLIPPERY Orwellian slope and we better get our shit together.

Whats next? In 10 years rated R movies are considered bad so they ban their digital distribution? Video game? Booze? Female nightwear? Bibles? Online shopping from non industry approved outlets? Text message screening? Email screening? Catching voicemails?

save your weekly allowance to buy a server then...
nothing is "free" you know...
If you lack an adult response why bother?

you are wrong, thats all...

you can buy a server if you want...
trump can buy his own servers if he wants...
anybody can...

there is no digital highway thats patrolled by partisans either...
thats your fantasy...

however there are responsible companies trying to protect their platform from the insanity some people are spreading, which is totally understandable...

why should they allow their trillion dollar infrastructure be abused?...
for what purpose?...

You've been listening to too many conspiracy theories. The world is not ending. You don't need to hide under your bed.

You can develop a budget and buy your own server, just like for a pizza shop you'd have to budget for an oven. Servers are not proprietary, they can be purchased.

I think we have and need limits. No kiddy porn sites and no sites that promote violent insurrections, is where I'd start.
