I recall back when all the money the Irish Republican Army was receiving from American citizens was a major issue between the U.S. and Great Britain. Crimea was of interest, but the world thought they could reason with Putin. The US was still in Afghanistan and had just gotten out of Iraq.

Why care about the Ukraine:

1. NATO. Putin is already trash talking Poland, (See Tucker Carlson interview), thinking that once Trump is back in the White House, Ukraine aid will end and he'll win. And then he can move on to Poland.

2. Throughout history, meglomaniacs like Putine have tried to build empires through conquest and subjugation. No good has ever come from any of these murderers and despots. Genocide and brutality is their legacy. Putin is already been accused of war crimes.

3. Putin has attacked elections in Canada, Great Britain, France and the USA.
