I suspected a global tariff of 10% by Trump and a bigger one for China. There is no doubt that Mexico and China have purposely been lax and are in effect engaging in war and murder against Americans through these poisons. The tariffs against Canada if related to Human Right abuses, especially in Ontario; would be more valid than the fentanyl argument he made. As such I think Trump is generating revenue to pay down U.S debt and for tax cuts when he applies them to Canada but I digress. He could probably generate between $600B and $1T over the next four years with such tariffs against Mexico and Canada. If he used it to pay down debt,.along with say $4T in total expenditure cuts in the U.S, he could make a meaningful impact on U.S debt. As it were, Mexico and China are far greater threats,.our problem in Canada is our covert apparatus who meddle in businesses and in the lives of citizens and to which Canadian poltiicians have ignored, not even aware how harmful they have been to our relations with the U.S.

Yeah, let's blame other countries for the US having a drug problem.

China doesn't have a drug problem. Why not? Because it clamps down heavily on drugs, and does it properly. The US says drugs are illegal and doesn't deal with the problem properly.

Drugs come in because the US creates ghettos, creates people whose lives are pointless from birth, they struggle and struggle and crime is their only way of making it. All the while the rich will tell you the opposite, that everyone can make it. They can't, it's a lie.

So Trump is merely making policies that pander to those who want to pretend all the problems are someone else's fault.

The UK did that with Brexit, the UK got poorer because of it. Well done.

Are you nuts? That's like blaming the Chinese for the Opium War when Britiain poisoned them. Mexico has been looking away, they work with some of these gangs and happily accept the precursor to fentanyl in their country. When people lose hope as their industries are sent to Mexico or China they turn to drinking alcohol or worse. These are foreign government poisoning Americans and you blame the people being poisoned solely for the access and supply these narion-states are creating?

America has always had a drug problem as far back as the mid-19th Century

We can ban drugs, but addiction exists at all levels of society, in some of the best families, and there is no consensus for severe punishment of users

I wish I had an easy answer, but I dont

Mexico looks away because the cartels are more powerful than the government, the cartels pay off government workers and all kinds of corruption. If you want to deal with the problem, you can't deal with it by trying to make Mexico poorer, this will just make the problem WORSE.

Just look @ the alcohol consumption in our America alone. Alky's wandering around drunk out of their minds like drink mouth wash if they can't afford the booze. Thousands dead per year from alcohol induced vehicular collisions. Alcohol related split up families. That alcohol is as bad or worse than any other mind altering chemical, but yet we sell that crap in practically every outlet. Worse we even advertise alcohol as if it will make a person the life of the party! In the end our lil tykes pay the ultimate price with separated parents & then themselves grow up just to keep the alcohol cycle continuing on & on from one generation to another. Unbelievable.

You're.not making Mexicans poorer with tariffs, you sre making businesses who import into America pay a fee which will decrease their profits. If they dont want that they can move to Amefica or pass it on to Americans who can decide if the want to pay that new price. The U.s can use.some of this generated revenue to deal with your border and the illegal poisons.

Alcohol at its worst is not as bad as drugs

But its bad enough that we dont need the drug problem too

In other words we the people will be paying the debt either way, not the countries that have a tariff imposed. So it means a tax increase for Americans.
