The great John Lennon turns 80

The powerful likely murdered him as they did so many like him.

Seriously? When John Lennon was murdered in 1980, he was a washed-up used-to-be celebrity with an embarrassing wife. No one was listening to what he had to say in 1980 ... we were all doing blow and voting for Ronald Regan.

Wrong. Your uninformed. The FBI was scared shitless of him. That’s why they were constantly spying on him.

We aren’t talking about his musical career. He was an outspoken critic of the state.

Nope, he had just released a successful new album. Fake news.

Double Fantasy...

"Initial critical reaction to the album was largely negative.[36] However, three weeks after the album's release, Lennon was murdered and several negative reviews by prominent critics were withheld from publication,[37] including those by Stephen Holden of The New York Times, Tom Carson of Rolling Stone, and Geoffrey Stokes of The Village Voice.[38] The negative reviews focused on the album's idealisation of Lennon and Ono's marriage. Stokes found the concept and theme to be "basically misogynist" and Kit Rachlis of the Boston Phoenix admitted to being "annoyed" by Lennon and Ono's assumption "that lots of people care deeply" about them"

Lennon getting killed was the best thing that every happened to this album's sales. Yoko made a fortune.

I never, generally, listen to ruling class journalists & their critics. They are all full of shit.

They are the ones that tell the population, which propagandists to listen to, and which ones to ignore.

I always like the cult classics and stuff that becomes more popular, years later anyhow.

I like a lot of songs of this albums, and critics can take their opinions and shove it up their ass.
