Both parties gerrymander, period. In Maryland, Massachusetts, and Illinois the Democrats gerrymandered. It just so happens the last election when the Census was done the Republicans won big so they controlled more of the map than the Democrats did when it came time to redistrict. If the Democrats had more state legislatures they would have gerrymandered and all of you complaining about the GOP gerrymander wouldn't be saying a word about it right now.

Also, you complain about drawing districts "where loyal to the party whites reside," yet, you make no mention of districts being drawn for blacks specifically to elect a black Democrat. If you oppose racial gerrymandering then oppose it. You can't have it both ways.

Drawing of districts needs to be taken out of the hands of legislators and done by an independent commission of citizens.
