I got to confess that I am kind of pessimistic about 2024, and nothing in last night's debate changed this. I don't know what I hated most: The bickering and sniping, Fat Fuck slob Christy's stupid Donald Duck quip, the over-the-top hatred of America by the Mexican chick, or Ramaswamy's hair. I still think that DeSantis is the best out of all of them. But his poll numbers suck while Trump's number are surging. I will vote for whomever gets the nomination, and I have no reservation whatsoever about voting for Trump again. We have some issues on our side, to be sure. Though, the GOP's issues are not anywhere near as bad as the Dems have with their corrupt, sick old bastard Biden and the lobotomized fuck-up VP. How depressing it must be to be a Democrat today. Dems are miserable, humorless fucks anyway, so this has to be particularly hard on them.
If Trump is elected in the general election then the left may start a violent revolution. That is how fucked up they are. But it is not a reason to not support Trump. If we were living in normal times, I would strongly support DeSantis, just like I supported Cruz in the 2016 GOP primary. But times are not normal. We may need Trump to win in 2024 to gain the leverage we need to make the changes we need to make to cut the cancer out of our country. I am very close to going all in on this position given (1) how hard the left is pushing against Trump and his constituents, and (2) how fucking flaccid the GOP challengers are. The only candidate other than DeSantis that comes across well is Nikki Haley, but she is an establishmentarian Republican. Plus, she is a woman. I love women, even leaders. But we do not need a woman as president at this point in time. Times are tense and just one little screw up can lead to disaster.
Ramaswamy - can be likable but I honestly don't think his judgment is all that solid yet. He proposes some policies I think would be disastrous, engages in conspiracy theories that frankly make him look a little flaky, and seems a bit wishy washy at times. I don't think he's ready yet to be President if he ever is.
Christie - I question his ethics/principles frankly and we'll always associate him with Donald Duck from now on.
Pence - One of the two best choices for President and probably the most ready and qualified, but I don't think he will win a single primary. On policy pretty solid. Would make a great VP for Trump again.
DeSantis - The other of the two best choices for President but my gut tells me he isn't ready to be thrown into the lion's den and it's hard to build up any enthusiasm. On policy pretty solid. Would make a great VP for Trump.
Haley - Made the mistake early on of campaigning as 'somebody who can win in 2024.' She obviously can't and in interviews and presentations she sounds like a politician repeating all the things she thinks sound good but unconvincing as to what she is passionate about.
Scott - Has been playing the race card. That isn't a winnable strategy as it tend to put people off, and I doubt anybody could say what his policy positions are.
Burgum - I still have to look up his name and I doubt many would recognize him on the street if they met him. At least everybody does know the names and would recognize the other six candidates. In other words, despite whatever his policies are, too much of an unknown to generate any interest.
Having said that, so far the two debates have not helped move the needle for any of these people, have been far less than educational for anybody, and Trump is looking better and better. Smart to skip the really lame theatrics.
And whichever of these people emerges as the nominee, I will vote for him or her as the Democrats are giving us little more than misery and an eroding America.
