That is one rockin' album!

People don't realize what it was like back then unless you were there and lived through it.

We were listening to 4 years of this shit...

Darlin` the first ones I bought and in rapid succession, were all the artists on the Windham Hill label. George Winston and those great musicians. I still listen to them on Pandora Internet Radio. Woot!!! :D

May I wish you a most enjoyable Memorial Day weekend, Lumpy 1, and I hope you are spending it with some members of that wonderful family of yours. :D

Wow, I don't remember it's been so long ago. I had an older brother and sister and I remember Pat Boone's Love Letters in the Sand from a really early age. We didn't have much money, but my mother gave me a dollar a week for an 'allowance.' Most of my friends bought records, but I was more into saving my dollars up and buying something cute to wear.

I do recall in high school the record store had a 'secret agent' contest. The prize was a transistor radio. They would choose someone to be the secret agent and everyone in the school was supposed to ask everyone else if they were the store's secret agent. The DJ was driving by my house and saw me in the yard, so he stopped and gave me the radio making me the secret agent. I knew I was likely to get asked because I was a cheerleader, so I ducked into every dark corner I could to be there and not really be seen. No one asked, and I won the radio. That radio was a treasured item all through high school.

how about the culture shock of the 50's?......those kids were the first kids to reject the music that their parents were listening too....for...."black music" and this new thing called Rock N Roll...........the Guitar becoming Electric changed a lot of things....

The first album for me was Elvis Presley's first album on rco victor 33 1/3 vinyl.

There have been 4 major events in rock history that changed the coarse of music for the entire world!

The first event was rock's genesis. When we went from Frank Sinatra music, to Bill Haley's "Rock around the Clock".

The second event was the British invasion when we went from 50's doo-wop bands to the Beatles.

The third event was when we went from this...

To this...

The fourth event was the day the hair bands died...
